Crew gave him the slightest nod and Rez returned it. Going undercover as a construction business would not only benefit the task force but maybe Nox, as well, since it would be a change of pace and scenery.

“Okay, I’m approving this undercover work for the both of you,” the task force leader announced.

“Forgot to tell you that instead of payment in cash, we’re going to barter with meth.”

“No shit?” Crew murmured.

“No shit.” Rez tapped his temple. “See? I was using my awesome and impressive brain power again. That payment method might be the reason they said yes to me to taking the job. It’s a good fucking deal for them.”

“Damn, I hate giving you that much credit,” Crew grumbled.

Rez smirked. “You underestimate me.”

“All right. You two do what you have to do. Keep me updated and fill out your daily reports.”

“Yes, Daddy,” Rez said.

“Speaking of Sapphire… Saw you on the cameras,” Nox murmured.

Rez’s head twisted toward his brother. “Who?”

“You.”

His brow pulled low. “Which cameras?”

“The ones at The Peach Pit.”

“Yeah, and?”

Nox shot him a knowing look.

“Hold up. What?” Crew asked. His attention bounced from Nox to Rez. “What? What did you do, asshole?”

“It’s not what he’s doing, it’s who,” Nox clarified.

Silence filled the room. Even Torres paused what he was doing and spun the office chair around to face them.

Crew’s eyes narrowed as he stared at Rez. “No fucking way you scored with her.”

“Was pretty fucking obvious to me,” Nox said.

“You’re mistaken,” Rez said.

Nox snorted. “You have a reason to hide it?”

“Yeah. You assholes.”

Crew grinned. “Thanks for the confirmation. Damn, dude. But what the fuck? Why you?”

After Rez swung his legs off the couch and planted his boots on the floor, he shrugged. “I got a great dick and know how to use it?”

Crew fell forward laughing. “That can’t be it.”

“Sure is. Add my skilled tongue and I’m every woman’s dream.”

Crew howled. “Jesus fuck. Get out the hip waders, boys. Shit’s getting deep.”

Torres laughed while Nox simply grunted in agreement.

“But fuck, man, she’s way too hot for you,” Crew said.

Torres added his two cents. “At least she knows how to ride a pole.”

“Chamo,” Rez growled.

Wearing a shit-eating grin, Torres jabbed a finger in his direction. “There it is. Proof positive he’s doing her.”

“How long has that been going on?” Crew asked.

“For as long as nunya.”

Crew frowned. “What? Is that another Spanish word I don’t know?”

“No, it’s nunya fuckin’ business. That’s how long. Anyway, can we get back to task force business and out of mine?”

Crew whacked Nox in the chest with the back of his hand. “Get a load of this guy. The king of ballbusters doesn’t like his being squeezed right now.” He made a squeezing motion with his hand.

“Look, I don’t give a shit what you say about me. Just watch what you say about her.”

Crew released a long, low whistle. “Damn. Another one bites the dust, Nox.”

“No,” Rez said. “Not even close, asshole. I could say that about you after every time you fuck some chick.”

Crew’s lips twitched. “Oh, so you did get to fuck her? You lucky fucking bastard. I’d hit that.”

“Sure you would, but you won’t ever get that opportunity.”

“Never know.”

Rez sighed. “Anyway… I’m sure you want to get out of here and get back to your date with your fist and your porn, so let’s get this wrapped up.”

“Suddenly, he doesn’t want to have a drawn-out conversation,” Torres said.

“Nothing suspicious about that at all,” Crew confirmed on a laugh, then sobered quickly as he got back to business. “Speaking of drawn out, can you draw out the project?”

Rez had the same thought. “We can try and divide our time up between their church and The Pit. That might be a good excuse to make the job in Uniontown last a little longer.”

“If you can, do it. Just don’t piss them off and have them fire you.”

“We’ll play it by ear.”

“When you meet with Wolf,” Crew started, “tell him you’re willing to do work at any of their businesses. I can’t imagine they won’t jump on that since you’re accepting meth for payment. Especially since they’re not paying shit for it and they can turn around and what they give you will be street value.”

At least it would mean more meth off the street. Not enough to make a dent, but even a small amount was better than nothing.

“By paying with meth, they’re going to get a helluva discount on construction work,” Nox agreed. “What about material?”

Rez shrugged. “We’ll tell them they need to buy that or supply it. Only our labor can be bartered.”

“That sounds like a sweet fucking plan,” Crew announced. “Damn, can’t believe that opportunity dropped in our lap like that. I didn’t think much of it when you first talked about it because I didn’t think those fuckers would go for it.”

“I didn’t either,” Rez confessed. “Shocked the shit out of me. And I knew it would give you a fucking boner, Crewella.”
