“Fuck no.”

“Guess it wasn’t Sadie,” the man murmured.

“Nope.”

“What was it?”

“Just,” he grimaced, “filth.”

“That’s it?”

When Rez turned to see amusement in Nox’s eyes, he realized his suffering had been worth it.

So, yeah, while that experience sucked donkey dick, it made him happy to see Bradley Lennox slowly returning to his old self.

Rez would actually sleep on that crusty blow-up mattress and under those eye-watering, nose-hair searing blankets if it meant continuing to see his brother return to the man he was before he lost his wife.

Rez tipped the beer to his lips, let the cold brew slide down his throat and then dropped his head back against the couch. He should’ve hit the gym after going separate ways from Nox. But doing construction every day at the Wolf Den, plus squeezing in some maintenance at The Peach Pit, was kicking his ass.

With his feet propped up on the coffee table, he rested the bottle on his thigh, and released a loud, long sigh from deep within him.

His thoughts turned from how he wished Sapphire was there right now so he could get some exercise in another way, to the fact that T-Bone once again disappeared into thin air. They had no idea where the prospect was sleeping, since he hadn’t returned to the Demons’ church, and figured the biker must have only stopped in the other day to pick up something.

Rez’s best guess was drugs. Because how can you pimp out a meth-addict if you don’t keep her high?

Mullins couldn’t identify what sedan the prospect was driving, only that it was old and a piece of shit. Possibly a brown Chevy or Dodge. But he noted that no one else could be seen in the vehicle as the prospect headed west.

Rez had no idea if it was worth it for them to continue to look for Sadie, but until Decker told them to stop, all of them would. He knew how badly Decker wanted to help Sloane find her sister. His BAMC brother was so far gone with the woman, he’d do anything for her.

True fucking love.

Rez grimaced. Why choose commitment when you can have copious amounts of sex without a damn string tied tightly around your balls?

On the cushion next to him, his phone lit up from an incoming text. As soon as he saw it was from Sapphire, he scrambled to read it.

Then he realized what he was doing and slowed his actions.

Fuck you, Cupid, fuck you. You need your poisonous arrow shoved up your own ass.

But, fuck, he was quickly getting addicted to Sapphire’s… pussy.

That was it.

She was sexy as fuck, great in bed, confident and intelligent. And so far, she hadn’t let any of the shit that spilled from of his mouth, whether on purpose or by accident, scare her off.

After waiting a couple more heartbeats, he finally allowed himself to read the text, hoping it said she was on her way to his place for another fun sleepover.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t. But, fortunately, it was also good news. Possibly.

T-Bone’s back, her text stated.

“Holy shit.” He growled when he had to fix the typos three times in his response because of his bumbling fingers. He’s working right now?

He jumped when his phone rang unexpectedly in his hand. He figured she wouldn’t call since she wouldn’t want to be overheard. And she wasn’t supposed to have her phone on her while she worked. Though, it wasn’t like the Demons were following any previously established policies. Maybe that one had been tossed out the window, too.

Either way, it was damn good to hear her sultry voice in his ear. “Seems that way. He was in Taint’s office for a while.”

“Must have been asking for his job back.”

“Do prospects have to ask? I thought they were expected to work and didn’t have a choice. It’s not like they have an HR department.”

He snorted. “True.”

“What you are doing?”

“Dreaming about you being naked under me. What time are you working until tonight?”

“Closing.”

Fuck.

“I told you that when I left this morning.”

Double fuck.

“You must not have been paying attention,” she continued.

“Hard to pay attention when you’re walking across my bedroom naked.”

“I was dressed.”

“Before coffee, then.”

“I brought you a mug twenty minutes prior.”

“Then, I’m just an asshole. So, anyway… Back to T-Bone…”

Her low chuckle filled his ear.

“I’m going to head over there.”

“And do what?”

“Follow him if he leaves.”

“What if he leaves before you get here?”

“Can you text me the second he does?”

“Sure. But it’s not like I can just sit here and watch every move the asshole makes. I’ll have Taint breathing down my neck.”

“Just do what you can. Do you know what he drives?”

“If you haven’t figured it out yet, they all ride Harleys.”

He faked a laugh. “Aren’t you funny? Just so you know, he had a sedan when he left the Wolf Den the other day. Is there a way you can check out back to see if it’s parked out there?”
