She looked around at the little strip mall with curiosity. This wasn’t our usual venue, but there weren’t many tattoo parlors in the luxury shopping center.

She looked up at me when I opened the door and ushered her in but I didn’t say anything and she didn’t ask. Good girl!

The attendant came out to meet us and took us right back. I’d already told him what I wanted, and since he’d done mine two and a half years ago he had everything he needed.

He took the design from a drawer and brought it over to me as I had her sit on the chair and wait. I looked over the design carefully.

It was an image of our wedding rings intertwined with my name emblazoned over it. It was identical to the one I have on my bicep. The only difference was mine had her name.

I held her hand as he added it to the small of her back, perfectly centered over her ass between the twin dimples there.

I knew she was sore and achy afterward so I took her home. The driver had already brought her car back so there was no worry there.

I put her to bed and kissed her forehead after removing the plug from her ass. “Sleep!” I pulled the bedroom door halfway closed and headed back downstairs.

I should go back to work since I had so much to do, but the thought of her waking up alone and sick didn’t sit well so I stayed.

I took care of her when she woke up and told her I’d see her the next day after making sure she ate and that her new tattoo looked okay.

Her fever was down now so I didn’t feel there was any danger if I left. “Stay off your back baby. Sleep on your side or your stomach. And remember not to get it wet in the shower okay.”

I could tell from the look in her eyes that she was sad I was leaving but I needed another one of those nights alone to think. Plus, my dog must be forgetting what I look like.

That night I watched her sleep while sipping a snifter of my favorite cognac. She looked like my little angel, soft and innocent as she slept on her side with her hands clasped between her thighs.

Even through the camera I could see the tear tracks on her cheeks and wondered if she’d cried in the shower since I’d been watching her since I got home hadn’t seen her cry.

The only time she was out of my sight was when she went to take her shower so I’m guessing that’s where it happened. I looked away from the sight for a second. I never could bear to see her cry.

I sat up most of the night deep in thought until it was time to go to bed. I was planning on giving her time to heal and also a few days away from me might help her see if this was what she truly wanted.

I know what she told her girls and even what she’d said to me, but I needed her to be sure this time. Yes I’d put my name on her; I had my reasons.

No matter what she decides after a few days apart, she’s always going to be mine. No matter where she goes I’ll find her. She’d opened Pandora’s box and that was the price she’d have to pay.

For the next two days I called her only once each morning to make sure she was okay. I don’t think she realized that I was watching her on the monitor, and I had no intentions on telling her.

I wasn’t exactly testing her; I never doubted her honesty before. But it was relieving to know that she always told me the truth during those calls.

There was still sadness in her voice, this morning when I called. “What’s the matter, why do you sound like that?”

“Nothing, I just, I miss you is all.”

“It’s only been a couple days. We were apart for six months. Besides Max was feeling neglected.”

“So why don’t you bring him over? He can stay with me while you’re at work, then he won’t be so lonely.”

“No, I don’t think so.” I didn’t expound on that statement but I knew she’d read between the lines. I’ve had my dog since college and he’s as much a part of my family as anyone else. I don’t take chances with those I love.

He’d already had his heart broken by her once and though I might be willing to take a chance myself, I wasn’t willing to put him through that.

“I’ll call you later if I’m not too busy.”

“When…” She started to question me but caught herself just in time.

“Did you say something?”

“No sorry, just forget it.”

“I’ll talk to you later then if nothing comes up.”
