I click the phone off as I stomp into the kitchen. Breaker is standing there drinking coffee. He’s staring at me as his gaze slowly drops to Thea’s phone that I have gripped tight in my hand.

“Problems?” he mutters.

“I need our tech guys to get me a constant location lock on a cell number.”

“One out of New York?” Breaker asks, an eyebrow lifted in response.

“I want this motherfucker dead. He will not threaten my woman and expect to keep breathing. If he makes one move to head to Kentucky, I want him stopped before he crosses state lines.”

“Your woman?”

“Do you have a problem with that? I know she deserves better than me. I tried to stay away until some motherfucker I respect gave me the green light. So, if you’re going to bitch now, save it.”

Breaker holds up his hands and laughs at me. “You claiming her in front of the club?”

“I’m on my way to get fucking tested so she knows I’m clean and then, I’m going to go rent an apartment that my woman will feel comfortable in and be happy with—all so I can fuck her without her worrying you will hear when she screams my name. What does that tell you?”

“That you finally got your head out of your ass,” he jokes. “Although if you talk about fucking my little sister again, I’m going to have to kill you.”

I flip him off. “Whatever.”

“Text me the number he called from just now. If it’s the same one he’s been using, I already have it monitored.”

“I want to know more about this fuck-head tonight. If you’re here, we can talk about it then. If you’re not, text the info to me.”

“I’ll email you the file I have,” he says, and I nod.

“I’d appreciate it.”

“De nada,” he murmurs.

“I may need you to back me up.”

“We’re brothers,” he says, but I shake my head.

“Yeah, well, judging from my father losing his mind last night, I can only imagine Bull’s response will be worse.”

Breaker snorts. “You scared, Bro?”

“Fuck you,” I snarl, good-naturedly.

“Dad wants Thea happy. Do that and don’t fuck her over, and he’ll be fine.”

“Let’s hope you’re right. Now that I’ve had just a small taste of Thea, I already know that I’m not letting her go. I’ll bust my ass to keep her happy, Breaker. I promise you that.”

Breaker slaps my back and puts his cup on the counter. “Good to have you back, Dom.”

With that, he walks out. After he leaves, I stare at the door for a few minutes, shaking my head, unsure what to make of it all. I just know that I was serious when I said I’d kill that motherfucker if he tried to follow Thea here. I might do it either way.

Now, I have one more thing to add to my list. I’m going to stop by the phone company and get Thea a phone under the club’s name. That fucker had to work hard to get her new number. He won’t get that shot again.

No fucking way.

Chapter 29

Dom

“Dom? Is everything okay?” Thea asks, looking worried as she steps out of the auditorium into the warm Kentucky air just outside of the building.

I knew she had something going on at the college today, but I didn’t realize it was an all-day seminar. The main office directed me to the correct building. I went inside and looked around like an idiot. Luckily, my girl spotted me pretty quick and followed me out.

“You forgot your phone,” I explain. “I didn’t want you to be without it all day. You might have needed me.”

Her face gets soft, and she steps into me, leaning up to place a kiss along the side of my jawline. “Who knew you could be so thoughtful?”

“It wasn’t completely because of that. I also wanted to see you again.”

“Is that a fact?” she practically giggles.

“Yeah. You’re very addicting. I don’t like being away from you.” She might think I’m joking, but I’m not at all.

“Good, because I’m feeling the same about you,” she purrs close to my ear. She wraps her arms around me. I kiss her forehead, returning the embrace.

“You keep this up, sweetheart, and you’re going to miss the lecture because I’m going to take you with me today.”

“What would we do?”

I grin down at her. “Does that mean you’re willing to skip school and go with me?”

She lets out a sigh of disappointment. “I can’t. Our test next week revolves around this lecture. I need a good grade.”

“Then I better let you get back to it,” I respond regretfully. I reach into my back pocket and take out her new phone. She frowns as she takes it from me.

“This isn’t my phone. I mean, it’s newer, but it’s not mine.”

“Nope, but this one is under the club’s name. I don’t want your dumbass ex hunting down your new number again.”
