When the fantasy I’d been building vanished, he lifted his head and glared at me. “I’m supposed to have patience and I’m supposed to be making love to you. That’s cheating.”

He was so cute when he was frustrated.

“I don’t think I agreed to that plan.” Shrugging, I kissed his cheek because I was pretty sure looking cute would make him even more crazy.

I was right.

As I ignored his grumbling sounds, I widened my eyes and kissed his other cheek. “I like making stories for you, Daddy.”

So I did another.

This time I was on my back, legs spread wide as I imagined him sinking hard and fast into me. We hadn’t gone that far, but I’d seen him naked, so the image was pretty good.

Good enough to have him grinding against me.

“Two can play that game, little mage.” As he nearly growled out the words, I realized he’d decided to play on a two-front war. He pinned my hands above my head and focused the images in his mind on spanking me as he fucked me hard.

Clearly the image I’d sent him of my ass was more vivid than I’d realized because he nailed it pretty well in both ways, getting the picture right and the sensations perfectly. He even timed the physical movement of humping against me with the picture in his head.

“At some point, I’m going to make you tell me why you can make such a picture-perfect image of your own ass in your head.” The threat had laughter pouring out of me and he finally couldn’t keep the rough Dom routine going.

As his laughter joined mine, he rolled us over so I was stretched out on him this time. “I have a naughty little mage.”

Nodding, I hid my face against his neck. “Yes, and one who really wants to make love to his mate.”

Daddy made a soft, agreeing sound and nuzzled against me. “I do too. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to quiz you at some point. You’re very good at that.”

Snickering, I kissed his neck. “Let’s see if I can distract you again.”

Moaning, Daddy pushed up to rock his hips against me. “If that’s how you’re going to deal with anything embarrassing, I’m going to become very annoying.”

He was such a brat.

“Are you telling me that you’ll end up being just as much of a brat as the other dragons in this town?” My teasing glare had him shrugging.

“It seems to be a dragon thing.” He was barely holding back laughter as the idea of being like the locals cracked him up. “It might be the water.”

Rolling my eyes at his possibly inadvertent mention of the water bottle, I sighed. “That’s too reasonable to be funny.”

And he laughed.

He had the strangest sense of humor.

When he stopped snickering, he gave me a quick kiss. “That wasn’t something I thought about. The words just came out.”

“You’re definitely a dragon.” My dryly delivered retort had him sucking in a breath and I had to fight to keep a straight face. “A very dramatic dragon.”

“I’m so offended. You have no idea.” He seemed to be channeling Lorne as he shook his head like he was so disappointed in me he couldn’t function. “Dramatic? Coming from a mage? That’s just…I can’t.”

He’d been too bored in the meetings lately and it’d given him time to plot.

Covering his eyes with his forearm, he pouted and made a variety of over-the-top sighs. “I just don’t know what to say. You’re not even apologizing.”

Yep.

He’d been plotting.

Planner Daddies were cute and dangerous.

Chapter 19

Pierce

He was going to play along once he stopped rolling his eyes and snickering.

“My feelings are hurt and you’re not even trying to make me feel better.”

I definitely wasn’t helping the situation, but after a few more seconds, he managed to get himself mostly under control. I even got a kiss as he took a deep breath to hold back the giggles that kept trying to escape. “I’m sorry, Daddy. I was so mean to you.”

I got another kiss, but a few more happy sounds escaped before he tried to speak again. “You’re not dramatic. I was just trying to get attention.”

Oh, I liked that.

“All that for attention? I don’t know what to say.” Because I hadn’t expected that response.

But he was good at the game and kissed me again. “I do, Daddy. I’m going to say sorry and then give you all the attention.”

Worked for me, but I was pretty sure I was supposed to play hard to get. “I don’t believe you. You were so mean to me.”

Merritt buried his face against my shoulder and shook as he did his best to hide his laughter. After a bit, he let out a breath slowly and tried to sound apologetic. “Trust me, Daddy. I’ll show you I’m sorry.”

Since that included sliding lower down my body and kissing my chest, I decided to be open-minded. “I don’t know…”
