“Caleb, please. I need you,” I whimpered.

He slowly nudged two big fingers into my center.

A moan got free, and my legs parted farther as I arched from the bed. Tiny pinpricks of pleasure lit up behind my eyes. “Yes. Please, Caleb.”

“Do you have a condom? Since you’re the girl who doesn’t like to come unprepared?”

His head cocked at that, the teasing threat slipping from his wicked tongue.

A throaty laugh got loose. Why did I love that he remembered the taunt of that first night?

“Bottom drawer under my book.”

He opened that drawer of the nightstand and rummaged around inside. What sounded like a growl rumbled in his chest. “Little Riot. What I’m going to do to you.”

He’d definitely found my toy stuffed in there, too.

Slamming the door shut, he straightened to his full, imposing height.

The man a glorious shadow that moved back to the edge of the bed.

I burned as I watched him ripping open the condom, burned beneath the weight of his stare as he rolled it over himself.

Urgency was carved into every harsh angle of his unforgettable face.

That unfathomable energy.

Electric sparks.

Shockwaves that blistered through the air.

I wanted him. In every way.

He climbed onto the bed and wound himself between my shaking thighs. He came all the way up until his hands were planted on either side of my head, and he leaned down, mouth a hairsbreadth away.

“I’m taking you, Paisley Dae, and I won’t fucking let anyone else have you. Do you understand?”

I tipped my chin up to him. “Don’t you know I already belong to you?”

Possession flashed through his gaze, and he clutched me by the back of the neck and edged away enough so he could guide himself to my center.

For one second, he stared at me, his promise so stark in the fiery ice of his eyes.

Then he had me in one single stroke.

So deep and overwhelming.

My mouth dropped open on a cry, and my hips jerked off the bed, nails raking over the bowing muscles of his back.

“Fuck,” he rasped.

The pleasure of him filling me was close to pain.

Perfectly devastating.

“I told you I would ruin you, Little Riot. How perfect you are around my cock.”

His palm slipped all the way down my side until he had me by the inside of the knee, and he was pushing me wide.

He pulled out then drove back in.

If it was possible, deeper that time.

Stealing my breath.

My sanity.

My mind.

I gasped around the feel of him. “Caleb.”

He pulled me closer. Chest to chest. Our breaths mingled and our spirits danced.

He took me in deep, powerful strokes. “You are perfect, Paisley. Nothing has ever come close to the feel of you.”

I lifted my hips to meet him thrust for thrust.

Our lips brushed and our tongues caressed.

Soft.

Hard.

Everything in between.

Pleasure sparked and grew, glowing at the edges of my sight.

Gathering strength.

Caleb pushed my leg up higher as he began to pound into me.

Faster. Deeper. Owning me.

Possessing me.

Taking me to a place I hadn’t known existed until he’d touched me.

Ruining me like he’d promised.

Lights shimmered and danced.

He slipped his hand between us and began to play with my clit.

His fingers stroked.

And that bliss pooled in my belly, bright and blinding as it built.

“Caleb.”

“I have you, Paisley. Let go.”

And that buzzy energy I’d felt from the beginning took new shape.

Rose from the depths.

It became a roar.

A roar in my spirit and soul.

A roar that erupted as an orgasm split me apart.

Bliss sped through my body.

Ecstasy carved deep.

Speeding and spreading. Touching every recess. Every cell. Every hidden place.

My nails tore at his back as the pleasure seared me through.

Caleb jerked and spasmed, and he buried a growl in my neck when he came.

He bowed and shook and clung to me as the pleasure rocked his foundation.

I could feel it.

The way everything shifted.

The cracks lining up to match.

He curled an arm around the top of my head, his lips against mine as he panted. “Reckless Angel…what did I do to get to have you right here, with me?”

“Stay with me?” I whispered at his ear as I ran my hand through the dark blond locks of his hair at the back of his head, holding onto him the way he was hanging onto me.

“Where would I go?”

THIRTY-SEVEN

CALEB

Darkness curled through her room. Vapors and shadows. The night deep and so utterly quiet that I could almost reach out and run my fingers through the dense stillness.

Peace and a contentment I’d never known before blustered through it, lulling me into the sanctuary of this woman’s arms that were still wrapped around me. Two of us clinging to each other, our hearts beating in sync.

Still, the tranquility was marred by the gloom that covered the house in a foreshadowing.

A coloring of evil that I could feel crawling across my flesh. Unease burned through me as I thought of what she’d come to mean. How I knew I would fight for her just as furiously as I would Evelyn.
