Him.

“Well…” I stood on the tips of my toes and got right under his lips, placing my chin on his muscular chest. “I love that we don’t have to hide anymore.”

He angled his head, softly grazing his lips on mine. “Is that right?”

“Yeah, that’s right. What do you think about that?”

I wasn’t used to experiencing these emotions.

I wasn’t this girl. Ever.

This moment.

This was for me.

Which scared me more than anything because this was him. It was Aires, the one guy I compared every other man to.

He was the first to break the silence between us, calling me out, “Are you thinking about all the ways this could go wrong?”

“Am I that obvious?”

“You do realize there’s nothing you could do to turn me off, right?”

Our stares connected.

“Would it help if I told you I have a fun day planned for us?”

“So you’ll have expectations?” I teased.

“I’m a man. The only expectation I have is to make you come in my mouth.”

“Oh,” I mocked. “Like all the other girls?”

“And what kind of girl is that, Bay?”

I shrugged. “Mostly models.”

“Wow.” He flinched. It was quick, but I saw it. “You’re actually judging me?”

I felt bad and was about to apologize. “I’m so—”

“For your information, I didn’t have a type until now. You could consider my cock an equal opportunist. He just loves to be taken for a ride.”

I cocked my head to the side. “Until now?”

“Yes, until now. Until you.”

How many women has he said those exact words to?

I couldn’t help myself. “And what type am I?”

“You, gorgeous, are the type of woman you take home to Mom.”

“Your mom? And how often do you do that? What number am I on your roster of women meeting your mother?”

He cocked his head. “Do you really want to know the answer?”

“That many, huh?” I smiled.

“Bay…” he coaxed, kissing my lips. “I’m not spending any more time with you talking about other women.”

I kissed him back. “Good answer.”

With that, he grabbed my hand and led me to the chauffeured SUV. No matter how many times I begged, he wouldn't reveal our first destination. I wasn’t much for surprises, but with Aires being the one delivering them, it made it a much different story.

Aires

“What would you like?” she asked on the drive, nodding to the drinks in the corner.

“Now that’s a loaded question if I ever heard one. I can think of multiple things you could do for me.”

“For some reason, I don’t doubt that.”

“I could show you if you’d like.”

She blushed.

I didn’t know what I was expecting or wanted from her. This woman had haunted my dreams from the second I first met her, and that thought alone terrified me. This wasn’t who I was. I didn’t care to learn about the women I was with. They were a quick fuck.

I loved my life.

Every aspect of it was what I molded it to be.

Yet I wanted to put it all on the line for her for the first time in my life.

My mind ran wild with all the emotions she stirred inside me. Sentiments I wasn’t used to and had no idea how to deal with. Bailey was fucking me up. The light breeze blew in through the window, and I couldn’t help myself, not with her. I gripped her wrist, catching her off guard, and tugged her toward me to straddle my lap.

She gasped, and her hand immediately pressed against my solid chest, causing heat to soar through my body, starting from my head down to my toes.

Her scent.

Her hair.

Her soft skin.

It all did something to me in a way it always had. My mouth collided with hers, slowly at first. My lips parted, beckoning her to do the same. She followed my lead, softly caressing the tip of my tongue with hers. Our mouths moved against one another as if destined to meet and come together again.

A chance.

A circumstance.

Kismet.

I slowly kissed her, trying to simmer down the unexpected movements of our emotional connection. Resting my forehead on hers, I stared openly into her gaze.

Over the years, I’d learned a lot about women—their mannerisms, expressions, and the way I made them feel. Bailey felt everything I was, and it frightened her in the same way it did me.

“Tell me you felt that…” I rasped, needing to hear her say it.

“Yes,” she breathed out, mimicking my tone.

This was too fast.

Too soon.

So I did the only thing I could…

I gave in.

Because this was her.

chapter twenty-three

Bailey

My cheeks flushed, and my belly fluttered. If I had learned one thing about Aires from the beginning, he spoke his mind anytime he opened his mouth. He never held back, which was one of the things I liked the most about him.

He seemed as genuine as they could come, and I hadn’t met a lot of honest people in my life. Especially when it came to dating men who were always trying to prove something.
