That was my first inkling that she was aware of the intense sexual energy that was building between us. Hand to hand combat in particular had gotten… steamy. I had been taking a lot of cold showers in the middle of the day. I had hoped she hadn’t noticed, but I had my doubts. Judging from the almost too innocent look on her face, combined with a far less innocent twinkle in her pretty eyes, she had.
My girl definitely knew something was in the wind. I looked at her again, more assessingly this time. She had on a pretty floral top. Something I had bought for her, obviously. And lipgloss… warning bells started to go off in my mind. I wanted her, more than the old Vice would have thought possible. I was more than ready for her. But I didn’t think she was even close to being ready for me.
The last thing I wanted to do was scare her off, not when things were finally starting to go well. She had finally learned to trust me, maybe even like me. Beyond that, I was afraid to hope.
“Or we could play poker,” I offered, thinking that was safer than the other option. Spreading out on the sectional to watch a romantic movie seemed very, very dangerous with the sexual chemistry brewing between us.
But did I really want to be safe? The little Devil on my shoulder asked? The answer was no. But I knew in my heart that she wasn’t ready.
“May I have another beer?”
I grunted and reached into the fridge to get her one. There wasn’t any real harm. Even though this was her first time having more than two.
I turned to find her close. Closer than I had realized. I groaned at her proximity. I couldn’t help it.
“Stasia…”
She batted her eyelashes at me. Batted them. I was a dead man, and I knew it.
I gripped her chin and tipped it up. She gasped. But she didn’t look afraid. She looked curious.
“You are playing with fire, little girl.”
Her eyes were on my lips. My eyes were on hers. My pulse started pounding in my shaft. I was instantly hard.
And this time, she was definitely close enough to feel it.
Her eyes widened as she looked up at me. My smile turned hard. I felt a little bit evil. But I was going to take what she had offered, and maybe a little bit more. Nothing could stop the train from rolling down the tracks at this point.
I tried to resist. I tried my damnedest. My mouth hovered above her sweet lips for a millionth of a second before I gave in the inevitable.
My mouth crashed down on hers. I sighed in relief when I stopped fighting the urge to kiss her. The pressure building between us had been almost unbearable. Kissing her was like drinking a glass of cold water water forty days in the goddamned dessert.
More like forty years.
I wasn’t just drinking her in. I was drowning in her. I could tell in an instant that she’d never been kissed but it was also the best kiss ever. Not just my best kiss, not that I could remember any of them. Drunken make outs while I decided whether or not to take some girl up on her offer of cheap sex. They didn’t even register.
This was a kiss.
Her mouth opened under the gentle pressure I applied, twisting my head and seeking entrance. I groaned softly as my tongue slipped inside those gorgeous lips of hers. She answered with a sweet whimper that went straight to my soul.
I knew I should stop. I knew it. I had to stop before I started down a road and reached a point we could not turn back from. But the moment I had the noble thought, trying to contain myself, she smashed right through my good intentions.
Anastasia arched her back, pressing her insanely beautiful body into mine. It wasn’t deliberate. It was a natural expression of her desire for me. And it was devastating to my peace of mind. It was the sexiest damned thing I’d felt in my life.
My hands clenched and then I gave in, rubbing my palms on her hips and sliding them up, wanting to touch her everywhere. Wanting to do everything.

“Motherfucker.”
“What?”
I knew that sound. It wasn’t an ordinary text. It wasn’t even an Untouchables MC text, or something from Cain, which all had their own ringtones. It was Trace. It was an alert he only sent in an emergency.
Something was wrong.
I wanted to ignore Trace. Ignore the danger. Give into my primal urges and claim her once and for all.
But I couldn’t. She was too precious. I could not throw away her safety because of my animalistic urges.
“What’s wrong?” She asked breathlessly, her eyes searching mine.
I looked at her with a minute of desire, regret, and that steely calm edge that descended on me right before a fight, then forced myself to step away. It was one of the hardest things I had ever done in my life. It felt like pulling two magnets apart. We were that drawn to each other.
