Damn, she needed to have a conversation with her parents and let them know what was going on with her life, other than the mundane updates she told them regularly. No doubt that particular conversation would be awkward.

She had no idea how they’d react beyond shocked at first. They didn’t even know she’d been in a casual relationship with Ford for years.

“Christmas is coming up soon. We could invite our families here for Christmas and New Years. They could see how we live firsthand,” Dylan suggested. “And see how happy we are.”

Erin thought that might work. They could see in person how happy they were. Not just hear about it over the phone.

“But just what are they going to see?” Ford turned his attention to her. “Do your parents know where you work now?”

“Yes, I mentioned it.”

“Do they know what the resort is all about?”

“They’re capable of googling,” she said simply.

“But have they?”

“My guess? No, because they’ve never asked more than, ‘How’s the new job going, honey?’”

“Do they know you’re hardly home anymore? That you practically live out of an overnight bag?”

“No,” she answered softly.

“My proposal would change that,” Dylan said simply.

“Where would we live? Here?” Ford asked skeptically.

“Well—”

“Your place isn’t big enough for three adults.”

“I can build a bigger place.”

Ford sat up and cocked an eyebrow at him. “You can?”

“A crew can. We can. You can design it however you’d like.”

“You’re the architect,” Ford reminded him.

“You could help. Both of you. It would be your home, too. The three of us can figure it out. What do you think?”

“You don’t think it’s too soon?” Erin asked him. “We’ve only been a committed throuple for a few months.”

Dylan continued, “Baby, we missed seventeen years.”

“Okay, but—”

“I don’t want to miss any more. Doesn’t this feel right?”

“Yes, but…” She glanced over at Ford.

Ford picked up from there. “I just want to be clear… If you’re only including me to keep Erin…”

Dylan scoffed, “Come on now, you should know by now that’s not it.”

“Then, what is it?” Ford still sounded skeptical.

But he should. Moving in together would be a big step and it would definitely spur a flurry of rumors in town.

No, it would no longer be rumors but fact. Any rumors about them would finally be proven right.

“Here’s the truth...” Dylan pulled in a long, deep breath. “When you two aren’t here, I feel something is missing.” He patted his bare chest over his heart. “In here. But it hit me the other day, that emptiness disappears whenever I see one of you. Even from a distance.”

“I mean, I feel that way, too,” Erin said. “I count the minutes until we’re all together again. And it has nothing to do with sex.”

Ford leaned over to place a kiss on the tip of her nose. “Same. But I also look forward to the sex.”

She laughed. “Well, of course, the sex is great. I was a little worried that being with two Doms would be too much for me. But you two work so well together; something else I didn’t expect.”

“Same,” Ford repeated. “I thought Dylan would be too stubborn to bend.”

“Over,” Erin added on a giggle.

“I wouldn’t bend over for anyone but you,” Dylan told Ford.

“Or me,” Erin said.

“The only way I’d bend over for you is if Ford ordered you to…” His eyebrows rose. “Have you two been making plans?”

Ford laughed. “I’m always planning. I can be out working on a fence line and something for us to try will pop in my head.”

“And pop in your pants?” Erin teased.

“Sometimes it’s convenient to work alone.”

“Oh, then maybe I need to come out to wherever you are to check on your work. Just to make sure it’s up to standards so I can head off any complaints before they roll in.”

“Anytime. But you don’t need that excuse, darlin’.”

“If you’re going out to check his work,” Dylan said, “you need to clear it with the boss first.”

Erin grinned. “So you can supervise?”

“Of course,” he answered in a serious tone. “Okay, so… Thoughts?”

“About sex during the workday? I’m all for it. Sounds like a great job perk,” Ford said.

Erin giggled.

Dylan did not. “You know what I’m asking.”

“I only see one problem with your plan… Beside your wing being too small for us and a new place will take a bit to build.”

“What’s the problem?” Dylan asked.

Chapter Thirty-One

“The problem is—” Ford stopped mid-sentence. He didn’t want to pressure Dylan to reveal his feelings before he was ready, but moving in together would be a big step. One to be taken seriously. Especially if both he and Erin sold their homes and moved onto the ranch. Ford needed more than simply being involved in an exclusive relationship.

This would be putting down actual roots. Declaring to the world that they were in a committed polyamorous relationship and didn’t care what other people thought about it.
