"There's no one," I hiss. "No one. And I told you to take your hands off of me before you regret it."

For a moment, he looks like he's going to let go of my suit, but in the end, he doesn't. His hands only grip my lapels tighter. I grab him by the wrists and forced them off my clothes.

"What fucking part of get your hands off of me don't you understand?" I demand.

"Do you really want to do this right here, right now? Saul asks.

"You're not giving me much of a choice, are you?"

We stare at each other in silence.. I know he's trying to help, but I've gotten sick of his constant interference.

"Walk out of this room before I lose my cool," I tell him. "Walk out of this room before I scar and maim you forever."

"Are you fucking serious?" Saul asks. "You're threatening me? Me, your brother."

"You're not my fucking brother,"I hiss. "You're anything but."

"No matter what you say, we are family Xavier," Saul reminds me. "We were always family and I always stuck by your side. I always did anything you wanted. I always took the responsibilities you gave me and I excelled in any job I was given. Now it's my duty to do the same for you. We can't let you vanish into this pit of self despair."

"Then fucking find Tallulah."

Frustrated, Saul slams his fist into the wall, creating a palm sized hole.

"Why can you fucking see clearly?"

He walks up to me menacingly, but I push him away. A scuffle begins. I know there's gonna be a security guard in here sooner rather than later. And our guards are waiting in front of the door. But there's no way they're going to intervene. Not when it's between me and Saul. I'm always going to win because I outrank him.

Without waiting for him to go on, I slam my fist into the side of Saul's face. He falls to the ground, groaning as he touches his jaw.

"Anything else you'd like to say to me?" I ask him.

"You're acting crazy," he says, groaning from the pain. "You're acting like a madman. And why? Because of some barely legal girl who got under your skin so much. You're attacking your only friend now."

"We're not friends," I spit out at him. "And until you find her, I want to hear nothing else. Don't talk to me. Don't come up to me. And don't involve me in any of your business. As of today, we're business associates and business associates only. We're not friends and we're not family. We never will be, so just stay the fuck away from me."

Chapter 10

I can tell something's wrong with my hand. The way it hangs off my body looks weird and I know something inside is broken. But there is nothing to be done about it now. We don't have much time and we need to get the fuck out of here. I corner Ivette who's panting and whimpering as I drag her down the hallway, away from prying eyes.

"I need to get my letters," she says. "I need to get all my letters before it's too late."

"Don't worry about the letters now," I tell her in a rushed voice. "We need to get out of here before it's too late and they find us."

"But I can't live without my letters," Ivette whispers. "They're for my children. I've been writing those letters all these years and I can't leave without them. They'll never know."

She falters, her voice breaking.

"They'll never know how I truly felt all these years that I've been away without them. If I don't get the letters, I won't be able to give them to the to the kids."

"Okay," I say with the heavy sigh. "We'll go get the letters."

I drag her to her room where her old briefcase, the old, beaten up one, is waiting. I grab it and push it into Ivette's hands.

"Okay, is everything you need in here?"

"Yes, she whispers, her eyes searching the room for more letters that could have escaped her careful attention. "Everything is in here, I think. Except that one right there on my desk!"

I make a quick move to grab the paper off the desk right by the door leading into the room. But before I can grab them, another palm wraps around my wrist and I look up into the eyes of a man who looks dangerous and ready to kill.

"Now, just what do you think you're doing, sweetheart?" he asks me, smirking an evil grin. "Looks like you managed to escape. But you're not going to run away from me this time."

He blocks the door, leaving no room for me to get out of the room.

"You can only go after one of us," I tell him in a low hiss. "One of us can still escape."
