“I know,” Abe said softly. “I do know.”
“Yeah?”
Abe nodded and leaned close to him, “Aside from the fact I’m all over you so often I’m not sure you could get it up to cheat on me—”
“Hey!” Jason pulled back, affronted. “I have no problem—”
“If you ever even think about cheating,” Abe said, grinning disturbingly, “I’ll cut off your dick while you’re sleeping and throw it out the car window on the side of the freeway.”
Jason gaped.
“Uh, you were a little scary right there,” Kristen said. “I mean, not to me, but if I was my dad, I’d be scared.”
Jason flipped around and saw Kristen standing next to the peninsula again. “You shouldn’t eavesdrop,” he snapped.
“Are you kidding me? I was taking notes so I can give Abe’s advice to Ilia.” She paused and tilted her head to the side thoughtfully. “Can you really cut off a dick?”
“Kristen!” Jason shouted.
“Sorry.” She rolled her eyes. “I meant to say ‘penis.’ Can you really cut off a penis?”
Exasperated, Jason shook his head and said, “Google it. That freeway idea wasn’t Abe’s. It’s been done.”
“Seriously?”
Jason nodded.
“Be right back.” Kristen hurried out of the room.
Turning back to Abe, Jason said, “So, what were we talking about?”
“Uh, Jase?”
“Yeah?”
“Did you just tell your sixteen-year-old daughter to go Google ‘cut penises’?”
His stomach dropped and he ran after Kristen. “Kristen! Wait! Don’t pull up any pictures. I need to see your results before you click on anything. Kristen!”
Behind him Abe laughed and said, “Gotta love having a family.”
