“Never,” he promises and kisses the tip of my nose.

After checking into the hotel, we all head down to the restaurant for lunch. Hadley is a little less green around the gills. We order lunch and champagne with bubbly grape juice for my pregnant twin.

Each time the twenty-something waiter comes up to the table, he stares at both Hadley and me, and it’s starting to creep me out. The not-too-bright jerk walks up and leans across my back to hand my twin a refill. Landon flies out of his chair and grabs the other man by the collar. “If you want to survive your shift, you’ll stop leering at our women.” He growls loud enough for most of the tables around us to hear his comment. Damn. My fierce hottie’s display has me ready to drag his ass upstairs and show him my appreciation.

“Soon.” Landon leans over and whispers in my ear, “I’m going to make you mine forever, then I’m going to fuck you until the sun rises.” Check please!

Two hours later, a bad Elvis impersonator marries us. My handsome hunk couldn’t have planned a more perfect ceremony. After placing a diamond eternity band next to the ginormous rock on my finger, he kisses me within an inch of my life.

He keeps his promise and makes love to me all night long. I finally pass out from exhaustion around four a.m. My hungry husband lets me get a few hours of sleep, then proceeds to keep his promise all over again. By the time we board the plane Sunday afternoon, I’m walking bowlegged with a huge smile on my face. I’m sure everyone on the plane knows exactly how we’ve spent the last couple of days.

A little over a month after our wedding, my twin goes into labor four weeks early. She was doing so well, so we didn’t expect this. I went to the hospital to check on Hadley early this morning, but she was barely making any progress. I’m dead on my feet from my own pregnancy, and I started drooping fast. When the doctor came in and advised us it would be hours, Cash told me to go home and wait. He’ll call me as soon as things start moving.

It’s a shame my husband won’t be in town for the twins’ birth. His parents made the difficult decision to move into a retirement community. They’re no longer able to handle all the upkeep on their large home and need to simplify. Landon flew to Florida yesterday to help them get everything in order, and I stayed home since early pregnancy is hitting me hard. We also decided to wait to tell everyone about the baby until he returns from his trip. It’s a good thing, too. I wouldn’t want my pregnancy to upstage my sister.

My phone rings and I see Cash’s picture flash across the screen. “Is she okay?”

“She’s fine. And both babies are perfect.” The constriction around my chest eases, and I’m finally able to draw in a full breath.

“I’m on my way.” I hang up and rush through the house to grab my purse and keys.

On the way to the hospital, I call Landon. “Hello, baby,” he answers. “Please tell me Cash passed out and made a fool of himself.”

I laugh at my husband. “I don’t know.” I’ll have to wait and get all the details from my twin later. “But the babies are here. I’m on my way to the hospital now.”

We discuss his parents while I drive to Silver Spoon Falls Memorial Hospital. When I pull into the parking lot, I tell him I need to go.

“I’m dying for all the details,” he tells me. “I miss you so much. I’m never ever traveling without you again.”

“I miss you, too. I’ll call you later.” I grab my purse and the present I bought for the twins.

“I love you, baby.”

“I love you, too,” I return then hang up.

A cute, bubbly nurse shows me the way to the postpartum wing. I juggle my purse and the gift bag before knocking on the door. I hear my big, powerful brother-in-law cooing to my sister as I push the door open. “How are you still so beautiful after giving birth to two human beings less than an hour ago?” I roll my eyes and watch my twin run her finger down the tiny baby’s nose before smiling at her husband.

“Liar.” She laughs. “I haven’t showered in two days. My hair is a rat’s nest, and I feel like I’ve been run over by a semi.”

“And you’re more beautiful than ever,” he assures her.

I make my gagging sounds. “Don’t lie to her.” I still love to give Cash hell for turning into a big pushover for my sister. I smack his shoulder and glance down at the baby in his arms. “Aww. He’s so handsome.” Tears fill my eyes, and I end up blubbering like a fool. “Please tell me you changed your mind on names.”
