He laughed. “How about we simply celebrate you being a free woman again, and we can get all caught up tomorrow. Maybe lunch or something.”

All I could do was nod. Aiden had, over the years, become a pro at deflecting conversations when it came to his job. Tonight, I didn’t want to press the issue. I was simply over the moon that my wish had come true. Aiden was here. He was home.

I smiled and replied, “Of course.”

“So, Aiden O’Hara is back,” Bree said as she stretched out her hand to shake Aiden’s. My mind was still reeling with the fact that he was actually standing in front of me, so it hadn’t dawned on me that Bree was about to say something she probably shouldn’t.

She leaned in closer and whispered something in Aiden’s ear. All he did was give her a small smile, then a wink. Bree laughed and then turned and gave me a once-over. She leaned closer to me and said in a loud enough voice that everyone around us could hear. “Pull that dress up a little more, honey, and show off the goods. Your surprise is here.”

A wave of heat rushed up my neck and straight to my face. “Aiden was the surprise? You knew he was in town?”

She nodded. “When I called Hunter and asked him about tonight, he told me Aiden was back. So I told him he needed to invite him because it would totally make your night.”

I glanced over her shoulder at Aiden. He stood there with that sexy-as-sin smile on his face, dimples on full display. Oh gosh, I was in so much trouble.

“Now, make good on your surprise, and go grind up against that hot-as-hell body.”

Aiden laughed as my mouth dropped open. “What? No! Oh my gosh, go and flirt with Hunter or something! Please!” I said as I pushed Bree away from Aiden and me.

After Bree sauntered over to Hunter, I asked Aiden, “What did she say to you?”

He stepped closer, and my heart nearly pounded out of my chest. He stood dangerously close to me, and I could smell his cologne mixed with the soap he used. My goodness, the man smelled like heaven. He smelled like crisp, clean air. Like the kind you breathe in when you drive up into the mountains.

The room spun slightly, and I realized it had been way too long since I’d used my vibrator. And it wasn’t a surprise to me that I would react this way. I had, after all, been attracted to Aiden for all those years. Even when I tried not to have feelings for him, they were still there, buried deep down inside my heart.

I looked up at his face. He was handsome. Strike that, he was devilishly handsome. A body that would make any woman drop and let him take her right on the spot, with eyes that pierced right into your soul and demanded you give everything over to him. But now his normal dark gray eyes looked so much lighter. My body trembled for the briefest of moments as he leaned down and placed his mouth to my ear once more.

“She said she heard I was a good kisser, and you were in need of a warm mouth on your body tonight.”

I felt my mouth drop open and I slowly drew back from him. The bar was suddenly too hot. The air too thick. My knees much, much too weak.

Aiden winked, pushing past me. “Glad to see that night left an impression on you, too, Willa.” Then he headed straight to the bar.

I stood there, dying from utter embarrassment, while I tried not to picture Aiden’s head between my legs.

With clenched fists, I mumbled, “I’m going to kill her.”

Instead, my feet moved me right in the path that Aiden had walked. He had said left an impression on you too. Did that mean he’d thought about that night? How often? When was the last time he’d thought about it? It had only been a few kisses. Never mind that they were mind-blowing kisses.

Stop this, Willa. For Pete’s sake, get your head on straight.

I rolled my eyes when a woman standing next Aiden did a double take and then shamelessly started to flirt with him while trying to press her fake chest against his arm. I had no doubt that he could simply point to a woman and she would leave with him, no questions asked. He was that good-looking. The kind of guy you would imagine an artist falling over to paint or sculpt.

How had he managed to stay so handsome all these years? No, how had he managed to get even more handsome? He did have a new scar on his face that I had noticed immediately. It only seemed to add to his…beauty. It was the only word I could use to describe Aiden. He was beautiful.
