We’ve snorkeled and swam with dolphins and we’ve walked the length of the beach. All in an afternoon. We play in the water until darkness sets in, then we get out and stroll back home, hand in hand.

“Fancy a bath?” I ask her, trying to make it sound innocent.

Olivia laughs. “Just a bath?” She flutters her eye lashes at me and I laugh.

The master bedroom is huge, befitting the size of the house. While Olivia undresses, I go to the adjoining bathroom to fill the tub. It’s a Jacuzzi-style bathtub and I’ve thought more times than I can count how nice it would be to have a woman in there with me. I’ve always come here alone and when I do, it’s because I desperately need a break from my everyday life.

I pour in some bubble bath and fill the tub, then strip out of my swim shorts. I step in and make myself comfortable while I wait for Olivia.

She comes a minute later, completely naked. My gaze moves to her neatly trimmed pussy and I can’t wait to have her close to me.

She dips a finger to test the water. “Perfect.” Except she’s looking at me.

“No, you are perfect.” I give her a hand and help her in. She sits between my legs and leans back on my chest. I rub soap all over her chest, staring at her nipples as they harden under my touch.

My thoughts drift to Olivia’s writing. Ivy called me earlier and she couldn’t say enough good things about the article that Olivia wrote. “What stops you from pursuing your writing dreams?” I ask her.

She’s quiet for a moment. “I suppose it’s lack of opportunity.”

“Please don’t give up. Keep pushing. You’re brilliant and I want the whole world to know.”

“Thank you,” Olivia says quietly.

We talk and relax for a while and then move to the bedroom. We make love slowly, drawing every bit of pleasure out, then lay together just staring into each other’s eyes. This is becoming a lot more than sex. it’s becoming special and I can’t wait to see how far it will go.

The ringing of my phone rouses me and when I open my eyes, I see that it’s already morning. Sunlight streams in through the drapes, bathing the room in golden rays. I kiss Olivia’s cheek as I reach for my phone. She stirs.

Why would Dylan be calling me so early on a Sunday morning?

I swipe the screen to answer. “Hey. Why can’t you wait for a decent hour before calling me?”

“Because you’re always at the clinic,” Dylan says. “You don’t know the meaning of the word relaxing.”

I glance at Olivia. “As a matter of fact, I am relaxing. At Luana Bay.”

“With Olivia?” Dylan asks.

“Yes.” I’m so proud of myself and I have no idea why.

“That’s actually why I’m calling. There’s a photo of you two in the local papers. Check online, I’m sure it’s there too,” Dylan says. “I know how important privacy it to you.”

“Thanks for the heads up,” I tell him and we say goodbye. Privacy is important to me and I always reflect on how anything that is out in the public eye will reflect on the clinic. Not this time. I’m okay with being photographed with Olivia. I have a feeling that she’ll be a permanent fixture in my life.

“Morning,” Olivia says sleepily, cracking open one eye. “What’s going on?”

“That was Dylan. He says to check the internet. Some of the gossip pages have a photo of us together.”

Olivia sits bolts upright in bed as if she’s seen a ghost. Her face is pale. “Can I see?” She sounds panicked.

“Are you okay?”

She smiles suddenly and lays back down. “Yes. Can I see the picture?”

Her reaction is odd and though she tries to act nonchalant, it has me curious. “Sure.” I scroll down the search results until I see the images. I click on one. It’s us all right but we’re in a car. The picture must have been taken at the clinic parking lot. We need to go through the CCTV footage and see if we’ll spot someone recording from a phone. My worry is the fact that someone obviously recorded us from the clinic grounds and that’s a security concern.

“Here it is,” I tell Olivia. “It’s not that bad. I’m the only one who is visible.”

She looks at it for a long time. She expands the picture and peers at it. “No one can tell that it’s me.”

It’s an odd comment and a chill runs down my spine. “Why do you care?”

She shrugs. “I like my privacy.”

I’m not sure whether she’s given much thought to what it means to be my girlfriend. “Olivia, if we agree to date exclusively, you will appear in public. They’ll want pictures of you.”

She sits up again. “I would hate that. I’m a very private person, Jace. We have to keep this under wraps.”
