Fuck, I needed some space from him for a few minutes. My cock was already waking back up.
“Good boy.” I headed for the door, my sock-clad feet not making a single sound as I walked away from him. “You’ve got five minutes. If you’re not downstairs in five minutes,” I looked over my shoulder at him, my hand gripping the doorknob, “I’ll come up here, bend you over the counter, and spank you.”
He squeaked and lurched from the bed. I bit back a quiet laugh and left the room, shutting the door behind me with a soft click. I paused right outside of the room and glared down at my dick. It was standing at attention, the idea of spanking Gabriel making my tip weep.
Christ.
I really seemed to enjoy making myself suffer.
Gabriel swung his legs back and forth as he nibbled at the protein bar I’d set out for him. The chocolate milk was already halfway gone, and he was just about done with the bar. Normally, his breakfast consisted of cereal or oatmeal, but if he was going to be working out with me, I needed him to get more protein into his body so he could bulk up more easily.
The gym doors opened, and we both turned to see who had entered. Gabriel froze at the sight of Gidget, his protein bar halfway to his parted lips. Gidget paused as well, his hand on the door, debating whether to come in or not due to Gabriel’s fear of him. I hadn’t thought about it before, and normally I wasn’t big on pushing Gabriel’s boundaries when he had so much healing to still do, but Gidget was the best fighter we had in this charter. He would be a damn good trainer for my boy—better than I could ever hope to be.
And I wanted what was best for Gabriel, even if it meant taking a blow to my ego.
“I can go—” Gidget started, his voice low and rough.
“Nah,” I said, shaking my head at him. “Actually, I think I could use your help.”
He grunted and shut the door behind him. He was wearing a white tank and a pair of gym shorts. His muscles were bulging. Gidget was a big son of a bitch—bigger than me. I knew without a doubt he could easily kick my ass. Because what he lacked in speed, he more than made up for in strength and knowledge of the streets and how to handle his own.
I had military training, but Gidget? He had the training of a kid trying to survive in a drug-infested world with disgusting men constantly coming and going out of the Section 8 home he’d grown up in.
“Help with what?” Gidget asked.
Gabriel finished his bar, chewing quickly, which was a sign of how nervous Gidget made him. Gabriel rarely ate anything fast, and I knew he wasn’t a fan of this protein bar when what he really wanted was a sugary bowl of cereal.
“Gabriel asked me to train him in self-defense, but when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, you’re better than me. And I want him to have the best. So, you up for helping?”
Gidget shrugged, eyeing Gabriel for a second who had grown paler before looking back at me. “Sure. So long as it’s okay with him.” Gidget looked at my boy, and Gabriel sort of shrunk into himself. I settled my hand on his shoulder, brushing my thumb along his collarbone. “You good with that, kid?” Gidget asked him.
Gabriel clenched his hands together in his lap, the wrapper of his bar crinkling in the otherwise silent gym. A tremor ran through his body. “You terrify me,” he blurted.
Gidget and I both laughed, which was surprising. Gidget didn’t laugh about much. Fucker was too hardened. “I know, kid. Which is why I’m asking if what Tango wants is okay with you. I won’t hurt you—at least not intentionally. But I won’t go easy on you either. If you want to learn, I’ll be more than happy to teach you.”
Gabriel looked up at me. I lifted my hand from his shoulder and ran it over his dark waves. “I’ll be right here,” I promised him. “I’m not going anywhere. And you know I would never put you in a situation that would harm you, baby boy. I know he scares you, but you can trust him.”
He blew out a soft breath and then looked back at Gidget, nodding his head. Gidget nodded once back at him before walking over to the shelf where equipment like gloves and pads were. Gabriel rose to his feet. I held out my hand for his wrapper, and he placed his hand in mine, letting his fingers linger for a moment before he left the wrapper in my grasp and dropped his hand back to his side. I shoved it in the pocket of my sweats to dispose of later.
