I look around this prison gym and the rage builds. I’m in fucking gen-pop. They mean for me to die in here.

“What the fuck you looking at?” I say to the tweaker watching me.

He rolls his eyes at me. “A dead man,” he says and walks off laughing hysterically.

I turn to see he’s not the only one leaving the gym. The room empties and three guys enter. I straighten up as I take notice that the guards are gone.

I’m not going to punk out. The fucking brotherhood in these walls have all abandoned me. Not one will talk to me. Fuck them, I don’t need them.

My blood runs cold when a fourth guy walks in. He seems as large as he did when I was a boy and I watched him kill my father with his bare hands. I could never forget this motherfucker.

He’s just older. His jet-black hair is longer, and he has a beard, but those blue eyes are still the eyes of the devil. A six five devil.

“You know who I am.” It’s a statement, not a question.

“Kevlar,” I bite out.

He grunts. “My name has been in your mouth too much. You know that?”

I grit my teeth. I don’t know how he’s in this prison. He should be in a max prison in Colorado. I flex my fist.

“I don’t give a fuck. You know that?”

He rushes me so fast I don’t know what happens until my nose is gushing blood. The big motherfucker headbutted me. I cradle my face and howl in pain.

“You show me some fucking respect. You’re not out there anymore. You don’t have a badge to shield your ass.”

I clench my teeth. My head is throbbing. I’m going to kill this motherfucker.

He snorts. “Forget that shit. You don’t have the smarts or the strength to kill me. Besides, I’m not going to let you live long enough to try,” he says as if he has read my mind.

“Fuck you,” I spit.

“You fucked yourself. No one fucks with my family. I might be in here, but I’m still motherfucking Prez. You fucked up, kid. Before I walk out of this bitch, your ass is mine.”

“Walk out?” I growl.

He grins. “I’m going home. Thanks to you, by the way.”

“What?” I roar.

“I’m going to leave you to think about that,” he chuckles. “We’ll meet again. Real soon.”

Kevlar

I stare into the blue eyes staring back at me. His dreadlocked hair is just as blond as his daddy’s. Memories begin to flood my head of my brother.

We’re like night and day in every way. He has blond hair, I don’t. He has a wife and kids, I don’t. He likes people, I don’t.

“You look just like your old man.”

“How are you, Uncle Kev?” He chuckles.

“Why are you here? Your daddy ain’t tell you my rules?”

“He did, but you’re coming home, and I wanted to have a talk with you.”

I sit back in my seat. This little fucker has balls. He reminds me of me and Cage when we were coming up.

I failed my brother. I should have been around for him and his boy.

“So, you think you have balls because you’re running shit? When I say I don’t want my family coming to see me in here, I mean that shit.”

He shrugs his shoulders. “You can kick my ass when you’re on this side.”

“Careful what you ask for. What do you want, King?”

“When you leave here, you have an entirely new life waiting for you. I’m here to make sure we’re on the same page. I can’t have you pushing to change everything back to the way it was,” he says with a straight as fuck face.

I lean in toward the glass and narrow my eyes at him. This kid obviously doesn’t know who he’s talking to. I ran the entire Lost Souls MC before getting thrown in here. Every chapter answered to me. I’ll be damned if his pissant ass comes in here giving me orders.

“Careful, King.”

“No disrespect. I know you and my father have your differences. I get that you have your way of thinking, but the Lost Souls have never been more successful.”

“Yet I have one of your problems in here with me.” I lift a brow.

He gives another shrug. “Do with that shit what you want. And actually, that was a problem caused by you. Consider it an offering.”

I pull a hand down my beard. This boy doesn’t know me. No one does. They think they do, but they don’t.

“You don’t have to worry about me, kid. When I get out of here, I want a beer, a sweet young thing to warm my bed, and to mind my fucking business.”

King nods. “I’ll have all of that waiting for you. But minding your business might be hard. I don’t think my old man is going to let that happen for too long.”
