“That was just the beginning.” I leaned in and kissed her again.

She responded by pulling me in towards her and kissing me passionately.

I groaned above her. “It’s too bad that I can’t fuck you right now.”

She pouted. “You can’t?”

“It’s time to celebrate our union.”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“We already had a rather quick engagement party out of nowhere—”

“I like to celebrate in other ways.”

She wore a wicked expression. “I also have an emergency Board meeting to go to—”

“That’s when we’ll be celebrating.”

“How?”

“It’s a surprise. You’re only to think about the sex that comes after the celebration.”

“What is the surprise?” She gave me a skeptical look.

I left her. “Let’s get dressed and find out this meeting time.”

She sighed and dragged herself away.

The rest of the morning passed in a blur of activity.

Her people and mine updated us. The Board had already arrived at the property and was waiting to reprimand Kashmere and put her in her place.

My soldiers showed up too, armed and waiting.

What is the Board thinking about the arrival of my army?

We had to hurry downstairs and make things clear.

Still, I made time to fuck my new fiancé in the shower. Nothing was better than having my cock moving inside of her warm pussy.

In the shower, she wrapped her legs around me and pulled me close to her, like she wanted more contact. I loved the way her wet skin felt against my body and the way she looked at me when we fucked, like she was staring into my soul. Those beautiful brown eyes sparkled with lust the whole time she gazed at me.

Her wet, slick thighs grinded against me and her pussy gripped my cock like a hand, pumping me with her strong muscles. The whole time she moaned my name, and I was in heaven and very hungry to experience her more and more.

After the steamy shower session, she led me to her bedroom suite and opened her closet door to a cavernous room filled with racks of guns, rifles, and diamond holsters. The collection thrilled and impressed me.

She’s a woman after my own heart.

When we finally dressed and headed downstairs, a song of blood lust rose in me.

Finally, I can kill someone.

And this time would be a worthy cause. It would be for my future wife. What could be better than protecting a woman that had quickly captured my heart to my shock and gratitude?

An unfamiliar feeling rose in me. I couldn’t identify the sensation. It was scary, like I was about to step off of the edge of a cliff and plunge into space.

We walked down the elaborate winding staircase.

Her crew and mine flanked us.

As I walked, I gazed at Kashmere. She wore a sexy red suit. Two gold guns dangled in diamond holsters at her hips. She stared blankly ahead. Fear radiated from her small frame.

I took her hand and squeezed it. “What’s wrong?”

“Every damn day there’s something new. If I’m not mourning people, then I’m handling Paradise and the Syndicate.” She lowered her voice. “Now, I’m getting married for god sake. . .and. . .surprisingly. . .”

I smiled.

“Surprisingly, I’m happy about that, when. . .I’d never considered marriage before.”

“Me either.”

We got to the first level.

Shocked, she grinned at me. “But, you were so easily able to accept our marriage.”

“Because I’m a smart man. One never turns away a gift from God. You wrap your head around the blessing and accept it.”

She blinked.

“Now, let’s go kill some people.”

“Oh wait.” She tried to stop me.

I kept us moving forward.

“We can’t kill anyone at this meeting, Santino.”

I quirked my brows. “Why not?”

“I already told you—”

“And I told you.”

“Santino.” She stopped us in front of a long hallway. “I’m serious. No one dies.”

Our people gave us several feet for the illusion of privacy. Meanwhile, they whispered and exchanged glances.

Leonardo gestured for my army of men to follow.

Kashmere took them all in. Close to thirty suited soldiers held guns in their hands. In an effort to show my fiancé that I was working with her, I’d made sure their shirts and suits were red.

She scanned all of their faces. “They. . .can’t come into the meeting.”

“But, they will.”

She turned her view back to me.

“Trust me.”

“I just met you.”

“Correct.” I walked down the hallway

“You need to trust me.” Kashmere got to my side and widened her eyes. “I’m telling you that this isn’t our way.”

“Has anyone ever killed a Board member?”

“No.”

“Then, how do you know that it won’t work?”

“What kind of ignorant ass theory is that?”

“I’ll do my best to let you stay in control.”

“Please.”

We made it to a large door at the end of the hallway.

All of our people positioned themselves behind us.

“Just make sure the Board respects you and I won’t interrupt.” I winked and opened the door with my other hand.

She whispered, “Santino, we’re not done talking.”

I led us into a huge conference room that had a large horseshoe table with men seated around it in suits.
