Leaving the head table, he marched over to the place where his ex was sitting with the three huge alien warriors.
“Terra,” he said, nodding shortly. “Nice to see you.”
“Well, you did invite me. And I couldn’t refuse to see the start of your new life.” She smiled radiantly and Gregory once again wondered why he had ever given her up. She was ten times the woman Mindy was and she was looking fucking gorgeous tonight!
The thought made him jealous and angry with himself and he tightened his jaw.
“Look,” he said stiffly. “If you brought these, er, guests with you to try and get my attention—”
“Actually, we came with Terra because she’s our new mate,” the warrior with green skin said.
“And we don’t take kindly to anyone insulting our mate, little man,” the one with red skin and horns rumbled.
“The Lady Terra is the Heart of our colony,” the blue warrior added. “We each love her equally—we cannot help that our kind of relationship draws attention.”
“Seriously?” Gregory looked from the three alien warriors to his ex-wife. “You mean you’re dating all three of them?”
Terra rose and the three warriors rose with her.
“Not exactly,” she said calmly. “You see, I’m not just dating them—I’m mated to all three of them.”
“You’re what?” Gregory gasped.
She shrugged. “You got married again—well, so did I.”
“But…but to three guys at once?” Gregory could hear his voice rising, but he couldn’t seem to help it. The idea of Terra—his Terra—with three huge aliens at one time was too much for his mind to take! His brain was breaking under the strain of it.
Terra only smiled calmly at him.
“I guess you could say I needed a change the second time around,” she told him. “Something a little more…satisfying, if you know what I mean.”
“But this is more than a change. Look, Terra—I’ll admit it—I made a huge mistake!” Gregory was aware that the wedding guests were looking at him—and that Mindy was glaring from the head table—but he couldn’t seem to stop.
“I mean it,” he said. “I’ll man up and say I’m sorry. Let’s forget everyone else and just give us another try—what do you say?”
“What do I say?” Terra raised her eyebrows at him. “I say that your new wife deserves more respect than that, Gregory. And she deserves a hell of a lot more respect that you showed me.”
“Also, our Lady is spoken for—or didn’t you hear her?” the blue Monstrum said, frowning.
“She’s carrying our sons in her womb,” the green one added.
“So I’m afraid you’ve missed your fucking chance,” the red one growled.
“But…but that can’t be true!” Gregory protested. “We haven’t been divorced for that long! It’s only been a little over a month since it was finalized.”
“That was long enough for me to find some men who really care for me,” Terra told him. “And you know what? I’m out of here—I’ve had enough of this wedding. So have a nice life!” She blew him a kiss and linked arms with two of the huge alien warriors while the third brought up the rear guard behind her.
“Wait!” Gregory called as the four of them sauntered out of the tent. By this time the DJ had stopped playing and everyone was watching—but he barely cared who heard him. “Terra, I don’t understand!” he exclaimed. “What happened to you?”
His gorgeous, unattainable ex-wife turned her head and winked at him.
“I told you—I found the men I’m supposed to be with. And now I’m the Queen of their Colony.”
Then she turned, and walked out of his life forever.
THE END?
OF COURSE NOT!
