“Yes, but I’m guessing you’re not going to take me home and take advantage of me.” She wiggles her eyebrows as I buckle her seatbelt.

“I’ll take you home and eat your pussy.”

“Benny! You’re so crude.”

“You love it.” I drop a kiss on the end of her nose.

“I do.” She sighs, leaning back, her eyes starting to close. “I love it and I love you,” she declares. Her words are unexpected and knock the air right out of my lungs.

I reach out and brush my thumb across her soft cheek. Her eyes remain closed and her breathing turns heavier.

“Love you too, Bunny,” I tell her. I have from the moment she wrapped herself around me. She claimed me that day. I’ll always belong to her.

Bunny

I wake to an empty bed. The night before comes rushing back to me. I reach over to feel Ben’s side. It’s cold. I remember him carrying me to bed. He made me drink a bunch of water and take something to help prevent me from getting a headache. It must have worked because I feel fine. Except for the hole in my heart from him not being here.

Did he ever come to bed? I glance to the window only to see a touch of sunlight peeking in from under the curtains. It must still be fairly early. I probably freaked him out. Not only with how clingy I’ve become. I’d also gone too far, allowing my stupid mouth to blurt out that I love him. At least I’m pretty sure I did. For the life of me I can’t recall what happened after. The next thing I do remember was him carrying me into the house. The ride home is a complete blank in my memory.

Buttons jumps up next to me. I give him some pets before I slip from the bed to go in search of Ben. Did he sleep in a guest room? That would kill me. What if I find him on the sofa? Is he going to give me some talk about how this is moving too fast? That my neediness has gone too far and he can’t handle me anymore? I know my obsession with him borders on unhealthy, but I couldn’t care less. Until now, he’s seemed fine with it. I was pretty sure he was enjoying it. But waking up alone has me thinking maybe it’s too much.

My stomach turns as I search the house for him. Then I hear his voice. I follow it down the hallway to his office.

“Thanks. I didn’t think they were linked to it, but I wanted to be sure.” The second I step into his office, his head lifts. His eyes lock with mine. “All right. Go back to bed. I’ll talk to you later,” he says before he ends the call, dropping his cell phone down onto his desk. “It’s too early for you to be up.” He motions for me to come to him.

Relief fills me. I don’t waste any time making my way to him. He pushes back his chair, making room for me. I stand between his legs. He is only wearing a pair of dark gray sweatpants. I’m only in his shirt from last night which he put me in after I stripped out of my clothes. He tried to get me one of my own, but I demanded he give me his. Not just any of his shirts either. The one he was wearing. I wanted his scent on me.

“You didn’t sleep in bed with me.”

“I was in bed with you for a bit.” He licks his lips. “Pretty sure I ate your pussy too.” My cheeks warm. I shouldn’t blush. Him doing that isn’t new. I should be used to his crude words by now, but I still tend to get a bit shy. That doesn’t mean I don’t like them. In fact, it’s the exact opposite: I love them.

“But you didn’t sleep? Why?” I don’t want to draw this out. It will drive me crazy. He leans forward, pressing his head against my stomach. I run my fingers through his short hair. “Ben, did I do something wrong? Has something changed?”

“You did nothing wrong.” He lifts his head, slipping his hands up under my shirt to grip my bare hips. “Things have changed.” His fingers dig into me. His hold is possessive. I love when he grips me this way. As if he never wants to let go.

“Ben.” His name leaves my lips in a whisper. Tears start to fill my eyes. “Because I said…” I trail off, scared to say those three little words again. From everything I do remember of my old life, I know I’ve never said them to another soul before.

“You love me.” He stands, lifting me off my feet in the process. I wrap my legs around him. “I didn’t trust myself in bed with you. Not after that.”
