“Are the bodyguards absolutely necessary?” she asks while her eyes remain transfixed on the sky.
“They’re a necessity.”
“If you say so.”
I strip my clothes and dive into the water. Swimming over to meet her, she stays on her back until my hands reach out to pull her to me.
“I do. Now tell me…. did you behave when I was gone?” Her hair’s floating around us, and her lips are soft and pink. I want to taste her again, claim her lips, and fuck her so hard she’ll be dreaming of me for weeks.
“I always behave unless instructed otherwise.” She winks, her arms wrap around my shoulders as she drops her head back to float, all the time being careful to not lay her hands on my back. Her body is flush against mine. She’s wearing a G-string and I can feel her bare ass against my fingers.
“I find that hard to believe.”
Isadora smiles, looking up at the night sky.
I drag a finger down her neck until I reach between her breasts. “You’re hiding something. I’m not sure what, but I’m eager to figure it out. I like a good puzzle.”
“A girl has to have some secrets.” She pulls her head out of the water and places a teasing kiss on my lips.
“So, you’ve said.”
“Boss.” Ace walks out.
Isadora tenses while I hold her.
“Gunner Reid’s on his way. ETA… ten minutes.”
“Occupy him.”
“Yes, sir.”
Ace doesn’t even notice Isadora, and I feel her relax when he walks away.
“Do you like him?” I ask, waiting for her to show me any sign that she’s lying.
“Yes.” She tells me the truth.
“Would you rather be in there with him than here with me?”
She shakes her head in answer. I like that answer and lean forward, cupping her face with my large hand and kiss her lips. She kisses me back, and when she pulls away, I let her go. Isadora floats on the surface of the water again, clearly she’s totally relaxed.
“How long am I expected to stay here, Jasper?” she asks, her eyes directed to the night sky.
“You can leave if you want, but I’ll find you. So, don’t hide.”
“And can I go back to work?” she asks.
“If you wish.”
Isadora smiles as she comes to a stand, then swims to the edge before she climbs out elegantly. Her perfect ass is on display, and then she looks over her shoulder as the doors open, and Gunner Reid’s standing there. His eyebrows are pulled together tightly and his lips are in a thin line. Normally, he wouldn’t be welcome in my home, especially with everything that’s happening, but Gunner is one of the smartest men I know. He lives and works a different county, Evergreen. We don’t see him. He stays on his side and I stay on mine. Although, slowly but surely I haven’t failed to notice him buying up property in the Moretti Mafia area. He just doesn’t realize yet, that I know. One thing about Gunner, he doesn’t like being made to wait, and that fact is clearly evident on his face.
“You can leave now,” I dismiss while she pauses and looks his way.
Gunner’s the opposite of everything I am. He has curly hair, no tattoos, and is a Greek god. Women go crazy to simply know him, even though he holds some of the biggest demons known to mankind.
“Jasper,” he states, looking from Isadora to me. If he wanted her, he could probably have her, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t kill him for trying. I would. No one can have her until I figure out exactly where I want her.
“You don’t want to play?” Her long hair is being twirled between her elegant fingers. “I do like to play, Jasper.” Isadora bats her eyes enticingly.
As I step out of the pool I’m shaking my head, and when I turn to look at her she is watching me, not Gunner.
“Go. Now, Isadora.”
She curtsies. “As you wish.” She twirls, bare ass and all, as she steps inside my home, not the mansion. I wait until the front door shuts before I slide on my shirt, and turn back to face Gunner whose hands are in his pockets as he watches me.
“We have business to discuss! Land you are attempting to stop us from acquiring,” I ask. He wants it as well, so he’s fighting me for it.
He simply nods once, then he fires back, “You don’t own it. Much like you don’t own the storefront located on it.”
“And you do?”
“No.” He smirks. “Indeed, I don’t. But I do know who does.”
“Their daughter was never killed, Jasper. She owns it.”
“Where the fuck is she?” Gunner taps his foot impatiently.
“Isn’t that your job… to know your town?”
I step closer. “Do you run yours?” I ask inquisitively, but also trying to get a rise from him.
He smirks. “Not yet, but I will. I’m a patient man, Jasper. Can you say the same?”
