I’m sorry, honey. Yeah, I think he very well could have done just that.

Lily said they’re going to look for her. Do you think there’s a possibility that she escaped?

You knew her better than anyone else. What do you think? Jonas waited. Impatient to be with her. He didn’t want to be in this room another minute. Lydia stunk of treachery. He needed to be outside, where he could breathe. With Camellia. Out in the open air. With the plants.

If she’s alive, anything’s possible. Get out of there, Jonas. Let the others handle Lydia. They’re going to turn her over to the general, and she’ll be charged with treason. She can’t dreamwalk or she would have accessed the files. She only guessed that Lily and Jeff were utilizing his ability based on his brain activity.

That made sense. “Rye, I’m taking off. I’ll leave you to it. I’m taking my woman and we’re heading to the house. If you need us for anything, we’ll be there.”

“Thanks for everything, Jonas.”

Jonas nodded and left. The moment he closed the door and was out in the hall, he realized he had someone to go to. He wasn’t alone.

He stood just outside in the sunlight, listening to the sound of Camellia’s voice as she talked to the other women and the little boy. She was on her knees, both hands in the soil. She looked happy and so beautiful she took his breath away. Then she looked up, and her expression turned soft with love.

There was Camellia, waiting for him. She brought him balance. Laughter. Peace. Acceptance.

I love you, Camellia Mist.

She smiled, and for him, it was like the sun coming out. He knew it would always be like that.
