When Ian’s name came up on my caller ID, I’d expected Ian…clearly, I shouldn’t make assumptions when alcohol was involved.

“I don’t know.” Okay, who had he said was coming over? “Kenton?”

A voice squeaked through the phone. “Help, I think I did it wrong.”

Yep, that was Kenton.

The phone whirled around and when it stopped, Lane’s face was staring into the screen. “Oh, you’re there.”

How much had they had to drink?

“Yes, I’m here.” And I was confused. “Where’s Ian?”

When Lane just sighed and looked nervous, I wondered if I should’ve started someplace else. “Well…”

What had they done with Ian?

Had they lost him?

“Daddy?” Ian’s voice coming from beyond the phone somewhere had Cohen and me breathing out a sigh of relief. “We…I’m stuck? And so is Emerson. Sorry?”

Who was Emerson?

I had a vague memory of meeting him when I’d first visited but hadn’t he been working on another project somewhere?

Fuck. How was I missing out on gossip when it was finally important?

“How are you stuck, cutie?” Cohen’s voice cut through the worry in my head. “Let me see what’s going on, Lane.”

“Yes, Sir.” Lane nodded and the phone whirled again like we were on some kind of 3D ride. “Um, it wasn’t my fault?”

That didn’t sound so good.

Oh…

Laughing would’ve been terrible because they were stuck, but it was…

“How did they do that?” Cohen was cocking his head and turning the phone like he just needed to get a better angle to figure out what they’d done. “Are they attached together?”

“Yes, Uncle Cohen.” Ian could move his head enough to look down at his body and at the possibly naked guy who seemed to be Emerson. “Um, I don’t know what happened but don’t worry, we’re not in pain and Lane says everyone has satisfactory circulation…satisfactory…satisfactory. That’s a very good word, Uncle Cohen. Do you know that word?”

Good grief.

Cohen blinked a few times before nodding. “Yes, cutie, it’s a very good word, and I’m glad Lane checked on your circulation.”

The phone whirled again and Lane’s face appeared inches from the screen. “That’s very important in a scene. I mean, this isn’t a scene. I think this is a disaster, but it counts in a disaster too, right?”

I had to resort to biting my lips as Cohen nodded, taking the whole crazy situation wonderfully seriously. “Yes, you did a very good job, Lane.”

God, this was…

Dropping my voice, I whispered to Cohen. “I don’t think they can get unstuck. Hell, I’m not sure they can safely get off the floor even if they hadn’t tied themselves together.”

He coughed, nodding and swallowing back more laughter. “I think you’re right.”

We both took a breath, groaning as the phone whirled until Ian was on the screen again. “Uncle Cohen?”

Cohen blinked and seemed to have to work to get his head back in the game as he nodded. “Yes, cutie?”

“We have to talk.” Ian looked so serious and so sad I had to work to remind myself he was drunk as a skunk and had tied himself up with BDSM restraints.

Nothing he said should be taken too seriously at this point.

Cohen seemed to be going through the same thought process because he nodded slowly and didn’t react. “What should we talk about?”

He was so fucking good at this.

Ian looked very sad still, but it was somewhere between cute and ridiculous, so I wasn’t sure how to respond. “We discussed it and we think you might not know you’re straight.”

Huh?

It was the last thing either of us had expected, so we were stunned silent for a few long seconds. Even Cohen’s fabulously fast Dom brain was stuck on that piece of information.

Thankfully, our chatty, helpful boy decided to explain how they’d come to this conclusion. “Letting Bishop suck you off isn’t gay. I didn’t know that, but it’s not. And flogging me isn’t gay. We decided that watching Bishop suck on my dick wasn’t gay either. I’m sorry, Uncle Cohen.”

I had no idea what to say.

Looking at Cohen, I raised one eyebrow. “Um, any ideas?”

He was so good.

“Cutie?” Cohen looked into the phone like all he was seeing was our sweet boy and not the strange chaos they’d created. “I kissed you. Remember? I like kissing you. That’s very gay.”

“Oh.” His eyes widened and he gave Cohen a beaming smile. “That’s right.”

Crisis averted?

Ian looked beyond the camera and gave our audience another big smile. “He kissed me. That’s very gay. I forgot.”

Excited sounds came through the phone and someone even patted Ian’s head, telling him that they were so happy for him…Kenton, maybe?

The cheerful sounds and congratulations went on for several long moments before they quieted down and Ian’s face appeared back on the screen. “Daddy, did you hear that? Uncle Cohen is gay.”

No laughing.

No laughing.

I was a good Daddy.

“I heard, cutie. That’s wonderful. But now I think we need to figure out how to get you unstuck.” Figuring out how they’d gotten that way could wait.
