When I walk back into the room, she is sitting up with her head on the pillow. The minute she feels me in the room, she opens her eyes. "Oh my goodness," she says when I place the tray on the bed in the middle of us. Her hand goes straight for the ginger ale with ice. "This looks so good," she says, grabbing it and bringing it to her lips. "I just got suddenly really hot." She takes one of her legs out of the covers.

"How are you feeling now?" I ask her, trying not to freak out that she's sick and maybe she should go to the hospital.

"Fine," she huffs and opens her eyes to look at me. I glare at her. "Fine, my stomach is going like this." She picks up her hand and does the wave with it. I get up and walk into her bathroom turning on the cold water in the sink and turning to grab a hand towel. I wet it and squeeze it out, returning to her bedside. The ginger ale has been finished and she has her head back and her eyes closed.

"Here." I hold out the rag to her. "Why don't you put this on the back of your neck?”

"I don't know how that is going to help," she replies, grabbing the rag from me but she puts it on the back of her neck. "But if it will get you off my back." I can't help but laugh as I walk around the bed and kick off my shoes. "What are you doing?"

"I'm going to sit by your side until you feel better." I sit down on the bed beside her with my back to the headboard. I grab the remote control, turning on the television. "You didn't think I'd leave you." I can't help but shake my head and laugh at the same time. "Why don't you rest your eyes, gorgeous.” I turn to look at her but find her glaring at me, and I can't help but lean in and kiss her lips. "And save your energy instead of fighting with me."

Chapter 11

Presley

"Here we go. From what I read on the internet, the best thing to curb the nausea is bone broth," Bennett says, walking into the room as I walk back out of the bathroom.

"Where the hell did you get bone broth?" I ask him, dragging my ass back to bed and sliding under the covers. Today has not been a good day; it has in fact been the worst day of my life and I would not recommend it to anyone.

"I called Luke," he says to me as if that's a normal thing. "Explained the situation."

"And what situation is that?" I try not to laugh at him.

"Um," he says, holding the tray in his hand. "The one where you ate bad shrimp." He winks at me. "And not the fact that it's morning sickness because you are with child."

"Smart move, Bennett." I smile at him. The whole afternoon he has been here, no matter how much I told him he didn't need to be here; he was just here. "Smart move."

"I aim to please," he tells me, smiling and I roll my eyes. "Do you feel better now that you took a shower?"

"And stopped throwing up." I fold my legs in front of me as he lays the tray down and I look at the yellow-colored broth. I turn my head right away and grab my phone dialing Luke, who answers right away. "What is in bone broth?"

"Oh, God." Bennett grabs the tray off me and turns to walk out of the room.

"It's bones," he answers me and I roll my eyes. "It's like knuckles, joints, oxtails, shanks, short ribs." I put my hand in front of my mouth.

"Never bring that shit into my house again," I say to him and he laughs.

"I didn't bring anything, your man ordered it." Luke can't help but laugh. "I also brought you a burger, so maybe go with that." I hear yelling in the background. "I have to let you go; it's naked Sunday and I have to get out of my clothes." I throw my phone down and get out of bed, walking down to the kitchen.

"Do you know what's in that?" I point at the soup and Bennett just shakes his head. He stands there looking like a college kid instead of a serious lawyer and I can't help but love this look also. "There is like knuckles and joints." I put my hand to my stomach. "I think for tonight I should have maybe chicken broth, or I don't know, the saltines helped."

"Whatever you want, gorgeous," he says, pouring the soup down the sink. "Do you want a grilled cheese?” I want to say no, but when he turns and looks at me, all I can do is smile. "Go lie back down," he says, walking over to the stove. "I'll be done in five minutes."
