“I’m not sure if I should be excited or afraid,” I say, straightening my dress.
He pulls me to him and looks down on my face with great affection. “You’re going to love it.” He drags a finger down my neck and across my cheek, coming to a stop against an erect nipple, which he begins to rub. “And later, you can show me how much you love it.”
I can still feel him between my legs. A delicious ache from being pounded by my husband’s talented cock. Now, a new throb has taken up there, and if he keeps rubbing my nipple like he is, then the surprise will have to wait.
God, this is going to be a great wedding night.
He grins. “Are you ready?”
When I nod, he takes my hand, and we leave the bedroom.
“Where are we going?”
We head downstairs and along one of the many passageways. As usual, his expression is unreadable, so I have no idea where he’s leading me.
Finally, he stops outside the closed doors of the grand parlor. “I know you said you were happy to forego wedding guests so we could get married right away.”
“Because it was too short of notice for my friends to make it. There was no way they could get time off work and organize family in time. It would be impossible.”
“Impossible for some. But not when you’re married to the pakhan of the Zarkov Bratva.”
“What have you done?” I ask, my excitement growing because I don’t know what is on the other side of these doors. Knowing Lev, it could be anything.
“Happy wedding day, my love.”
He gives me the sexiest smile I have ever seen right before he pushes the doors open.
Immediately, the room erupts with wolf cries and clapping as Chloe, Samantha, Elsa, and Henry come rushing toward us.
“When did you..? how did..?” I hug them all.
“We just got here,” Henry says, pulling me in for a bear hug. “You know how I ran out of vacation time? Apparently, it was an error. HR found an extra week owed to me which is quite extraordinary considering I haven’t worked there long enough to have earned it.” He winks. “I think you married a wizard, baby girl.”
“Tell me about it,” Samantha says with sparkling eyes. “My boss rang me before I even received the invite. Told me to take all the time I needed. Next thing I know, I’m being picked up by a limousine and taken to a private jet where these guys were waiting inside. I agree with Henry—you married a magic man. My boss hates me. She never calls. Never gives me an iota of her time. But one call from your husband and I’ve got all the time I need.”
“Does he have a brother?” Chloe asks.
“No, he has a cousin, but look away honey, I’ve got dibs,” Henry says, watching Feliks walking in.
His arm is in a sling, but he is dressed in a fresh suit and looks good.
After many hugs are shared, and I fill my friends in on the wedding, and everyone gets a good look at my engagement and wedding ring—not to mention my growing belly—we sit at the table and enjoy our wedding feast.
The grand parlor is set up for a small reception. A long table gleams with crystalware and fine china, and the aroma of delicious food fills the air. Plates of roast chicken and beef, and dishes of roast potatoes, vegetables, gravies, and other sides crowd the table.
Across the table from me, Lev is in deep conversation with Feliks and Henry, and as I watch them, I notice the way Feliks has his arm slung across the back of Henry’s chair and is tenderly stroking his shoulder as he talks. Has Cupid’s arrow struck again in this house? I grin, hoping so.
Elsa leans over. “I whole-heartedly approve. Your husband is something else.”
“You only just met him.”
“Yes, but he clearly loves you. The man moved mountains for us all to be here today because he knew it would make you happy.”
I mock gasp. “You mean he gets the Elsa tick of approval?”
“Two ticks. Because the way he looks at you… well, that man is smitten.” She winks and places a gentle hand on my stomach. “And this… I couldn’t be happier for you.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about being pregnant. Everything happened so fast. I promise I’ll fill you in later.”
Chloe appears beside us. “You bet you will. I want all the details.” She gives me a big squeeze. “I’m so happy for you, Brooke.”
“Me too,” Samantha says, joining us. “I can already tell you two were made for each other.”
I look over at the man I now call my husband.
My friends all love him.
But nothing like I do. Because I’m crazy in love with him.
And now everything feels right in the world.
