He chuckled. “Not this time, Baby girl.”

She stuck out her bottom lip in a pout. “But that’s not fair.”

“Fair is a relative word, Little one.” He reluctantly pulled her dress back over her distracting breasts before stroking her bottom lip with his thumb. “Surely you realize I’m the Daddy Dom in this relationship. Life won’t always be fair, but I’ll always take care of my Baby girl when she needs it.”

He would not be removing his pants in this office inside Blaze so that their first time fully naked together would be someplace without total privacy.

After lifting her to sitting and settling her straddling his lap again, he palmed her hips under the dress. “I have to work for several hours, Baby girl. Will you be okay if I leave you in the daycare while I work?”

She nodded. “Yes, Daddy. I’ll color with my friends like I always do.”

He kissed her nose. “Good. Will you come home with me when I get done with my shift?”

She nodded again. “I’d like that, Daddy.”

“Excellent. I have a surprise for you.” He winked, giving her something to look forward to.

Her face lit up. “You do? At your house?”

“Uh-huh. I think you’re going to like it. I’ve been working on it all week.”

Her eyes widened adorably. “All week?”

“Yep. Ever since I came into your shop Sunday night. Remember, I told you then you were mine.”

She swallowed. “I didn’t let myself believe you were serious,” she whispered.

“I know, but I’m hoping you’re starting to believe me now. I meant it and I still do. I want you to be my Baby girl in every sense of the word.”

She smiled, her head tipping shyly to one side. “I’d like that, Daddy. I can’t wait until you get off work.”

“I can’t wait either, Baby girl.” He stood and eased her to her feet. He hadn’t let her yellow shoes hit the floor from the moment she’d jumped into his arms when she arrived, but he needed to be sure she was steady on her feet before he left her in the daycare.

He took her hand in his and led her from the office, knowing this was going to be the longest shift he’d ever worked at Blaze.

Chapter Six

“So, you and Teddy?” Ellie teased before yawning widely. “Oops!” The exhausted Little clapped a hand over her mouth before looking around the group apologetically.

“You have to be wiped out, Ellie. You’ve been baking for days!” Riley observed. She was off duty tonight and having fun being Little with the others in the daycare.

“But I don’t want to interrupt your answer. You and Teddy?” she repeated, looking expectantly.

“We’re together,” Daisy admitted with a grin. “He asked me to call him Daddy.”

“Wow! Congratulations!” Riley cheered with a big grin that sobered a bit as she continued, “I hope I find my Daddy someday.”

“You will, Riley. Who knows, maybe it’s someone close by?” Ellie suggested.

The trio glanced around at the Blaze members wandering outside the daycare. Milo Dante raised a hand to wave at them.

“Hi, Knot Master!” Daisy and Ellie chimed in together.

“Hi, Littles! What a pretty picture you all make together!”

“Have fun tying people up!” Ellie chirped.

“Thanks. I’m still looking for my perfect bunny,” he added suggestively.

“Not me.” Ellie shook her head emphatically.

“Me, neither.” Daisy agreed with her friend that she wasn’t drawn to that activity.

“Maybe, someday,” Riley answered softly as she looked at the tabletop.

“Someday,” Milo agreed, smiling at the woman with her head tilted down. He moved away after several long seconds of observation.

“Is he gone yet?” Riley whispered.

“Yes. Is something going on between you two?” Daisy probed. The tattooed, part-time Little was usually much more outgoing.

“Of course not.” Riley dismissed the suggestion.

“I don’t know. I think he was looking for you,” Ellie suggested.

“He said ‘Hi’ to us, but looked at you the whole time, Riley,” Daisy confirmed with an enthusiastic nod.

“He can’t be interested in me. Milo has beautiful rope bunnies falling over him all the time,” Riley murmured as if the idea were preposterous.

“Ahhh!” Ellie yawned and stretched her arms out in different directions.

“Time to go home, Little girl.” Garrett’s tone brooked no argument as the stern Daddy approached.

“Yes, Daddy,” Ellie said, putting her crayon neatly in the basket and tearing the page from the coloring book.

“Look! I was almost finished.” Ellie flapped the page at Garrett as she rushed to his side.

The handsome man accepted the picture and carefully held it up to peruse the sheet. “This is lovely, Little girl. I’d give it ten crayons.”

“Yay!” Ellie cheered before dissolving into a jaw-cracking yawn. She slipped her hand into Garrett’s and with a friendly wave goodbye, followed him toward the exit.

“I don’t know whether to hope her business slows down or keeps going at this pace. She’s going to need more workers,” Riley commented as they leaned back over their creations once again.
