“Like what you see, hmmmm?” He talks and all of what I just thought flies out the window, but then again… he doesn’t have to talk while he’s fucking me. I could just sit on his face.

I lick my bottom lip. “I was just wondering.”

“What’s that?” The corner of his mouth tilts up, offering a glimpse of his smirk.

I flip the sheets off my body and watch as dark purple silk slips off my smooth skin. I stare at him over my shoulder, making an effort to slowly pick up my negligee. “If I would still find your talking annoying if you’re moaning my name.”

He pauses, and his tongue sneaks out between his smirking lips briefly before he looks down to his crotch and glances back up at me. “Well, fuck, we can find out right now if you want.”

I’ve shimmied into my silk short lace nightie that barely covers my ass before he can take another step in. Burying my fingers into my hair to move out of my face with my fingertips, I amble my way to where he stands. I’m not a tall girl by any means. In fact, I’m a little on the short side, and Eli seems to be around the same height as the other guys, so I would say around six and over. A whole foot (at least) taller than me.

Seconds pass. His hazel on my lilac.

“Fuck,” he whispers breathlessly. “Your eyes are insane.”

I smile up at him, the tension now broken. “They’ve got nothing on my mind.” I sidestep away from him and make my way downstairs. I take performing seriously, and I know I need extra time to see what happens here.

I land at the bottom of the stairs, twisting my hair into a low knot when my eyes land on Kyrin. He’s sitting at the table, a foot perched on a chair and his eyes down on his phone. Keaton is beside him, drinking a protein shake while watching him carefully.

“Ignore it. It’s probably no big,” Keaton says, gesturing to Kyrin’s phone.

I brush past them and head straight for the front door, desperate to get into the tent and exude some pent-up energy, when Eli’s voice stops me from behind.

“Offer will still stand for as long as I’m here, Lil.” He stretches his arms out wide, his ab muscles flexing beneath all of the tattoos. He grins at me. “Come get it when you’re ready.”

“Fuck, man. Sass is going to have your balls,” I hear Keaton say as I slam the door behind them and make my way to the large purple and black tent.

It’s big. Massive, in fact, about seven times the size of an average circus tent. I’ve never been to a Midnight Mayhem show before, so I can’t imagine why they would need something so generous. Until I step through the open doors and realize how wrong I was. There’s a makeshift stage at the center, with chairs that round all the way with the exception of a small section where the backstage curtain covers. The chairs line in an elevated row with the section closest to the front more private with curtained walls and candlelit tables. I crank my head up to the ceiling, finding a metal cage that obviously lowers down onto the stage. The final act, I know about this. There are many reasons why they obviously need something this big, all of which I neglected before arriving.

Three wheels tower the space, with the circumference of the wheel large enough to fit a group of people in. I’ve seen something similar before in Vegas, though this one looks modified. For what? I’m not sure. There’s a ring inside the ring, with a swing hanging off that is connected to the one inside. As I get closer, I notice that the ring on the outside of the smaller one has track marks on it.

“Motorbikes. Of course.” I rub my fingers together.

“Honestly, I was so hesitant to sit on that fucking thing.”

“This?” I ask, gesturing to the swing. “Huh. Looks fun.”

“It’s not.” Saskia snickers, pulling off her hoodie and tossing it onto one of the chairs in the front section. “I know Kill would never hurt me, but accidents happen, you know?”

“No offense,” I say, unclipping my hair out of my bun. “But you dance with fire. I can’t really see you as being scared of much of anything.”

“True.” She stretches out her arms. “How was your sleep?”

“I don’t.”

“Don’t?”

“Sleep,” I say, just as Perse treads over to where we are, handing me a piece of paper. “Hi.”

“Hi.” Perse smiles at me, gesturing to one of the chairs. She’s very pretty. With angry-red hair and soft tanned skin, her beauty is obvious, but there’s something else about her that seems just so much more than what she appears as. “Please sit so we can talk.” Sass wiggles her brows at me before prancing off to sit with a few of the other girls who I’m assuming are on the aerials.
