He was there for her.

Not once did he walk away when he could.

Even after he got sex with her, he didn’t walk away.

“You’re giving me a strange look,” he said.

“I just realized something.”

“What’s that?”

“You love me.”

He stood up from his chair and moved toward her. She stared into his eyes as he knelt down beside her. The sweet smile on his lips made her melt. He always did that. From the first moment she met him, she saw that he was a handsome man. Sexy, kind, sweet.

“You’re only just realizing that now?”

She nodded.

“Danielle, baby, I’ve never stayed with a woman for that long. I’ve never gone out of my way to make a woman happy. To make her depend on me. You’re the only that has driven me crazy. That makes me ache with need. Who I want to impress more than anything. Just you.” He took hold of her hand, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. “I finally married you, and I’m so fucking happy about that. You belong to me now, and no matter what, I’m not giving you up. Not now. Not ever. I wanted you to get pregnant. I craved you more than anything I’ve ever wanted in this world. At first, I didn’t understand this feeling. I’m not used to being the one chasing you. I’m the one that is fighting women off.”

She rolled her eyes and loved hearing him chuckle. “I guess there is a first for everything.” She cupped his cheek. “I love you too. I know I’ve not said it all that much, and I’ve probably never acted like I do, but I do.” They both smiled. “Marriage has always been really scary for me. I don’t know why. I think it’s because as a kid, my parents always had it all mapped out. You know. What I was going to be. Who I was going to be. All of the things they wanted. It took my nanny telling me that I can be whatever the hell I want to be for me to realize that I didn’t have to do what they wanted. Even as you turned my world upside down, I knew my parents would love you. You’re an Ivory. The kind of son-in-law they’d love and adore. It scared me.”

He kissed her, and she felt that answering heat within her. “You don’t have to be afraid anymore. Yes, I’m an Ivory. Yes, this is the wedding of a lifetime. Our companies are now bound by marriage, but you forget something, Danielle.”

“What’s that?” He stayed so silent for so long she didn’t know if she could take the suspense anymore.

“You’re my Mrs. Right.”

“I am?”

“Yes. You’re my heart. My soul. My everything. I love you more than anything in the world. There’s not going to be anyone else. I want to grow old with you. Share Christmases, birthdays, and all the festive holidays with you. I want to have more than one kid. We’re going to need to have a brother or sister for our baby. In short, Danielle, I want it all with you. I want every little thing, and I’m willing to fight for it.”

She threw her arms around him.

For a honeymoon, it was a pretty deep conversation, but it was one she felt they really needed to have. Tears filled her eyes, and happiness consumed her.

“I love you, Brice. So much. I don’t care what anyone else thinks. You own my heart.”

He held her tightly. She felt his love and hoped that he did hers.

There was no hiding these feelings.

Regardless of the countdown the press had on how long their marriage would last, she wouldn’t listen to them.

She’d listen to her heart.

To Brice.

To their relationship.

Nothing else because they had each other.

Epilogue

News just in, we gave it a month, six months, a year, two years, three years total. Now at five years, the latest photos of Brice and Danielle Ivory show their family is growing yet again. In her latest cookbook, the stunning celebrity chef shows off not only her culinary skills, but her mothering ones as well. Rolling cookies with their baby daughter, to seeing Brice hold their son as he stirs a pot of sauce. The latest book is certainly for the family…

Brice smiled with his youngest son on his lap.

The cookbook they were talking about was in his hands. The final printed copy. It showed him, with his arm around Danielle, and their four kids, one in his arms and the other three around them.

When Danielle had told him her idea, he thought it was crazy. Working through it, he came to see what a genius idea it was.

Yes, they were successful businessman and -woman. They were responsible for multi-million-dollar businesses. The truth was though, when they got through that door, they were a family.

It’s what they focused on.
