“It’s ‘y’all.’ One word, not two,” I tell him proudly, and he grins. “Y’all.”

“I don’t care. I just love hearing you say it,” he says before he yawns.

“I’m ready for bed when you are.”

His eyes hood a bit as he runs his hands down my body, squeezing me to him. “Good. I’m about to fall out.”

He kisses me quickly before I push up, getting off him. Together, we pick up the mess, and he shuts off the TV as I go to clean the kitchen. “That can wait,” he tells me, and I put the dishes in the sink, turning off the water.

“My mom says you should never leave a dirty kitchen.”

“Listen, no offense to your mom, but if I have the choice between doing dishes and doing you in my bed, I’m choosing the latter.”

I wipe my hands on the towel. “Same,” I agree as I meet him in the hall. He wraps his arm around my waist, and together, we walk to his bedroom. He hits the lights, and I take in the black walls that have black crown molding along the top. On the wall above his bed is a large print of a very fantasy-style photo of a dragon. “So, you’re into dragons?”

“Are those judgy eyes?”

My lips twitch as I swallow my laughter. “Absolutely not.”

“I wouldn’t think so since you literally have a Vols dildo.” I sputter, and he sets me with a look. “Watch it, baby doll.”

His warning only swirls desire deep within me as he heads into the bathroom. I can’t help but ask, “So, why dragons?”

He opens the drawer under the sink. “My grandpa was really into them. We read all the great dragon novels, and then when Game of Thrones came out, we just became more obsessed. The dragon on my back is actually the art we had made of my grandpa in dragon form.”

I press my lips together. “Y’all have dragon forms.”

“You drive a white pickup with orange glitter.”

“Yes, but I don’t identify as a dragon.”

That has him laughing as he stands up, setting a toothbrush and washcloth on the sink. He leans out of the bathroom, pointing to the two framed drawings on his wall. I walk over, and immediately, I’m in awe. The dragon on the left, which looks like his tattoo, is visibly older, his scales black with neon-blue eyes and scars along his face. “My grandpa was mauled by a dog when he was younger, so we added that in.” The dragon on the right has lighter blue eyes, a strong jaw, sharp teeth, with large horns and reddish-gold scales along his body. “He used to say I was so passionate that I’d go from rage to sunshine in seconds.”

“Sunshine,” I repeat, his tattoo along his neck calling to me.

He nods. “The word means a lot to me.”

My lips curve as I wrap my arms around him, kissing his top lip. “So, what you’re telling me is I’m in love with a nerd who thinks he’s a dragon?”

His lips twitch, trying not to grin. “Just as I’m totally in love with a girl who is obsessed with the Vols.”

“Don’t you forget it,” I tell him with a wink, and he laughs.

“How can I?” he asks, and I grin as he hooks his thumb over his shoulder. “I got you a toothbrush and washcloth.”

“Thank you.” I follow him into the bathroom. Together, we brush our teeth and wash up. “You don’t have a hairbrush, do you?”

He opens the drawer and moves things around until he finds a Dora one. “It’s Sabine’s.”

“Sure it is… I’m surprised there isn’t a dragon on it.”

“Is your hairbrush orange?”

“Shut up,” I say as I start to brush out my hair, his laughter bringing me joy. We finish up, and as he shuts off the lights, I climb into his massively large bed. He is a big dude, so I’m not surprised. But still, it’s rather huge. “Is this a king?”

“Alaskan king,” he tells me, and I can fully spread out and still not touch him.

“Why do you need all this bed?”

He takes me by the wrist and pulls me into his chest. “Because I knew one day, I’d have a big-booty babe in my bed, and I’d need the room to love her in all the ways I desire.”

His words heat me from the inside out. “Yet we went at it on the floor—twice—when this was in the bedroom. This is nice.”

“Hey, hey, hey,” he says, gathering my jaw in his palm. “You weren’t complaining when you were riding my face.”

A deep blush burns my face, and I smack his cheek. “Dart!”

“What? You loved it,” he murmurs against my mouth. “You almost broke my nose, you were riding me so hard.”

“Oh my God,” I groan. “Did I hurt you?”

“Baby doll, I would wear that broken nose as a badge of honor and tell everyone how it happened.”
