“Is this staring and hyperventilating thing what you were gonna show me?” Dunn whispered in the same warm, teasing tone he used when we were fishing and it was my turn to go inside and get us fresh beers… and that was when it clicked—really clicked—that this was Dunn underneath me.
And tomorrow… well, tomorrow Dunn was one hundred percent gonna realize all the reasons why he needed to stick with someone like Jenn, or hopefully someone better for him than Jenn, but still someone who wasn’t me, and my poor heart was gonna shrivel up and crack into dust and blow away. Goodbye, Tucker Wright.
But this moment, right now? This was the shot I’d never thought I’d get. This was the undying dream of my foolish, foolish heart. I had never wanted anyone or anything the way I wanted Dunn Johnson under my hands, to have the opportunity to show him how incredible he was. And now I could.
And I was going to savor it.
I hooked a finger in his waistband and raised an eyebrow. “These look uncomfortable.”
“Do they?” His voice was rough. Needy. And it made an answering need fizz through my blood.
“I mean, I know mine are.” I stood up without waiting for him to say anything else and shucked my pants entirely, kicking them under the sofa.
My erection bobbed against my stomach, sticky with fluid and really, unmistakably there. Dunn’s gaze locked on it… and his breathing ramped up.
I toyed with the button on his jeans, and his eyes met mine, a little wary and a whole lot excited. “Yes?”
“Yeah.” He nodded. “Definitely yes.”
I unbuttoned and unzipped him, and then Dunn took over, wiggling out of his jeans and briefs and kicking them off so hard they sailed over the back of the couch.
I snickered… and then laughed out loud. “Excited?”
“Maybe.”
I looked down at him splayed out on my couch and… fuck. He was long, and cut, and mouthwateringly perfect—everything I never needed to see if I ever wanted any hope of being content just being friends, but that was tomorrow-Tucker’s problem. Today-Tucker was living in the moment, so I reached out a hand to stroke him.
Dunn’s entire back bowed up off the sofa like he’d been electrocuted. “Oh my flippin Lord.”
“Dunn? Y’okay?” I asked softly. I wondered if this would be the part where it all got a little too real for him, and if it was, I was going to be a supportive friend. I was. And I’d maybe only cry a little.
“Tucker?” Dunn’s green eyes lifted to mine, confused and aroused. “God, you’re gorgeous.”
He sounded nearly as shocked to say it as I was to hear it, and I hadn’t known just how badly I needed to hear that from him until the words were out.
“Yeah?” I huffed out a little laugh. This… this was not real life. I had no idea what kind of alternate reality, parallel universe, dream world I’d stumbled into, but I didn’t wanna go home.
“Come here,” he whispered. “Come back here and hold me down and kiss me again. Everything makes sense when you do.”
I felt kinda the same, so that’s exactly what I did. I climbed on top of my best best friend and let him wrap his arms around me. I took my time exploring his mouth, then yanked his head to the side so I could lick each of his four freckles as I made my way down his jaw to his neck.
Dunn’s breath shuddered out of him, and his hands tightened on me as I ran my teeth over each of his nipples in turn. His body writhed under mine, needing friction, so I straddled his leg and rubbed against him while I took my time worshipping every inch of his gorgeous chest and his smooth, defined abs.
And then I moved lower, pushing his knee off the couch to give myself room.
“Tuck?” Dunn asked softly.
“Shh. Let me. Just like you were thinking earlier,” I told him. I wrapped a hand around the base of his shaft and licked a stripe up the side of his cock.
“Shit, Tuck!” Dunn shouted. He grabbed the back of the sofa like we were on a boat in choppy water, and I chuckled darkly… then I braced a hand on the cushion beside his hip and sucked him into my mouth.
It had been years since I’d done this, and I was pretty sure anyone else would’ve found my technique a little sloppy, but Dunn didn’t seem to care, maybe because I made up for it with some serious enthusiasm, jacking him in time to the pulls of my mouth until his breath came in little moaning pants.
Dunn’s hand—the one that wasn’t anchored to the couch—came to rest on my hair, but it seemed like he wasn’t sure what to do with it besides pat it gently, when gentle was the last thing I wanted.
