I closed my eyes and started to count the strokes in hope that I would last longer, but it didn’t work.

Yet again, I started to come after only a scant few minutes of our lovemaking, hopeless when it came to Booth.

I bit my lip harshly to stifle the scream that threatened to bubble out of my throat.

It didn’t seem to matter, though, when moments later Booth bellowed as he came, too.

Long moments later, as we both came back to ourselves, Booth started to laugh.

“What?” I asked huskily, rolling only my head so I could look at him.

“You,” he said.

“Me what?”

“You make me so fucking happy that I can’t seem to help myself sometimes,” he looked into my eyes.

My brows furrowed in confusion.

“What?” I pushed.

He shook his head.

“Nothing,” he got up and stepped into his pants.

It was then that the baby started to cry, causing him to disappear without another word.

That was, however, how he was.

He was so devoted to Daniela that it made my heart happy.

As I waited patiently for him to come back, I contemplated my life over the last two years.

Thought about all that had changed for me, good and bad.

I had the man that I loved with all of my heart. A job that was so awesome I never once hated to go to it, and a family to come home to at the end of a long, hard day.

It was everything that I could have ever wanted, and everything that I never hoped to have.

“You sleeping baby?” Booth asked.

I opened my eyes, unaware that I’d closed them as I thought.

“Yeah,” I whispered.

He leaned down and pulled me up to stand at the bottom of the bed.

“I love you,” he told me softly, pressing his lips chastely against mine.

“I love you too, Booth,” I sighed. “Thank you for coming home.”

He chuckled.

“You were here. How could I not?”
