I’ve had one marriage where I didn’t know what the fuck was going in; I’ll be damned if I’m gonna have another. Even when I was married to Janine, I never would’ve let anyone come at her like this, and I never loved her trifling ass half as much as I love Justine.
She tried to argue, but I ignored her since I’d already said all I planned to on the matter, and when that shit didn’t work, I rolled her onto her back and fucked the piss out of her.
* * *
She’s fast asleep again, and it’s almost time to go meet the asshole. She knew not to leave the house and not to interfere, which is the last thing I told her before she fell asleep. I did my best to make her sore enough to keep her little ass in the damn house. I’m not jealous of her ex since he’s a grade a asshole, but I don’t want her anywhere near him.
The kids would be home in a couple of hours, so I decided to do some work in the home office before heading out to meet Sam at the hotel. Time flew by, and I got some shit done before I heard the kids coming in. Tyler headed for my office first thing since he’s not accustomed to me being home this early in the day.
“Dad? What’s up? What’re you doing home?” I looked behind him, half expecting to see his stepsister. The two of them had grown close in the months since her mother and I got married, and I know my boy has been showing her around and introducing her to his friends since she didn’t know anyone here. I’m pretty proud of him for the way he’d accepted everything so far as far as Justine and Lora were concerned.
Since he and are so close and have pretty much shared everything with each other in the past ten years, I didn’t see anything wrong with sharing since Lora was nowhere to be seen. I’d already told Justine not to tell our daughter about her asshole sperm donor being in town, and she’s agreed it was for the best. Asshole only stresses the poor kid out.
“Justine’s ex is in town.”
“Lora’s dad?” The fuck is up with him? I wasn’t sure what the look he wore meant, and now didn’t seem like the time to ask.
“Yeah, he wants to see the two of them.”
“Like hell!” I just lifted my brow, but he didn’t say anything else.
“My thoughts exactly. I’m going to head out in a few and have a word with him.”
“I’m coming with you.”
‘Tyler…”
“I’m coming with you, dad.” When did my kid become a man? His gaze was straightforward and to the point. If I didn’t bring the little shit along, he’d probably just follow me there because he doesn’t listen for shit. Especially if he thinks there’s a possibility that I may get hurt, whether physically or mentally.
I nodded my agreement, “Lora doesn’t hear a word about this understood?”
“You don’t have to tell me that dad, I’m not dense.”
“I thought he was out of the picture anyway. Lora said she hadn’t heard anything from him in months. Not since the wedding.”
“You two talk about that?”
“Well yeah! We’re both the products of our parents’ fuck ups.” This kid.
“Smartass. Let’s go.”
Eric
We didn’t say much to each other on the ride to the hotel, but he seemed deep in thought and more than a little annoyed. The fact that he wasn’t saying anything about what was bothering him was a bit worrying since we’re not in the habit of hiding shit from each other. “You having trouble at school, kid?” He looked away from the window and back at me.
“No, why do you ask that?”
“No reason you just look a little putout is all.” I slid to a stop at the next red light and looked over at him, and that’s when I noticed the way he was rubbing his finger across his upper lip. It’s silly sure the amount of pride I took in that one little gesture, but that’s the same thing I find myself doing when something’s weighing heavy on my mind.
“Has your mother been contacting you?”
“Nope, not since the last time she tried fishing for information on Justine, and I told her to pound sand.”
“You told your mother that? Sorry!” I grimaced playfully at the look he threw me.
Ty and I have an understanding. I don’t try to force any false gaiety between him and his mother, and he stops short of outright cussing her out so that the rest of the world doesn’t think that I raised an animal. Janine hates the fact that I won’t reel him in, and I’m sure she’s told anyone that’s dumb enough to listen how I’d turned her son against her, but all those who matter knows better.
