She walked away, pulling free from him.
His cock, hard since he’d spied her, didn’t go down as she put distance between them and he turned, watching her hold up a finger to Eli and head over to hug his brothers. Jealousy bit at him.
What shocked him the most, aside from the jealousy, was how happy Livingston was to see her. The smile was so unlike his brother it took his breath away.
“Yeah, I got that the first time I saw him with either of his sisters-in-law. It’s an even bigger smile when it’s his wife.”
“I’m glad he’s happy. Good to see you, Eli. And one other thing.”
“What’s that?”
“Touch my woman again and I’ll bury you.”
He walked to where Violet was still talking animatedly with his brothers, Eli’s chuckle following him the entire way.
Chapter Four
Violet seethed. How dare that man presume to tell me who I can and can’t fuck? Swallowing back her anger, she placed a genial smile on her lips and faced his brothers. Her brothers-in-law.
It’s not like I had plans to fuck Eli but damn, even if I had, it’s my decision, not his.
“What are the two of you doing here?” She posed the question she’d wondered about since she’d watched them pour out of the gleaming black SUV.
And I’ll be one of the first ones to admit how damn sexy and hot that brooding private investigator is, but it’s not like I’m so unhinged I’d jump at any man who smiled at me.
Livingston pushed his hands into his pockets and Bradford crossed his arms.
“I asked them the same thing.” Hastings spoke from beside her.
All three of these men are just gorgeous, it’s simply not fair.
“Nobody asked you,” she snipped, keeping her eyes on the two oldest. Not allowing them to drift to tall, dark and moody. And sexy.
So sexy.
“I don’t like being left out,” he said without malice, nudging her with one impossibly large arm.
She couldn’t even say it was his shoulder because he towered over her by a good foot. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any reasonable way to ignore the heat tendrils that spiraled up and out from his point of contact on her body. It reminded her in a loud and determined way that it had been far too long since anything had been between her legs other than her own hand or something that ran on batteries or plugged in.
“We don’t care. Go away and let us discuss business.” She shooed him away with her hand.
It took a moment for it to sink in, what she was doing, and the fact that both of his brothers were watching with far too much amusement on their faces. Whirling to them, she narrowed her gaze.
“What’s so funny?”
Both men immediately held up their hands, shaking their heads.
Hastings didn’t even attempt to cover up his disgust.
Livingston cleared his throat. “We should go inside and talk. How about Bradford and I go in with Eli and look around and you two, well, while I wouldn’t suggest fucking on the front stoop of the business, you need to do something to move past the tension between you.”
Heat sluiced up her skin.
“Use the Rover, windows are tinted.” Bradford smacked Hastings on the back, and they walked away, both brothers talking and gesturing while they left.
Hastings remained beside her.
“I hate you, you know.” Violet exhaled slowly as she watched them move to the front door, get joined by Eli and carry on. “God-damn!” All three were fucking hot.
And in a second, Hastings was between her and the tasty vision she was thoroughly enjoying. Not that Hastings Rhodes was any less delicious to stare at. However, Eli was safer, as were Livingston and Bradford.
“Eyes off my brothers,” he growled.
She tipped her head back to look up at him. Those flinty graphite eyes were burning with a heat she’d not seen in them before. Not like this. It singed her. More like melted away her clothing and restraint.
Damn it, this man is dangerous. He could easily stare at me and get me to strip for him.
With a shrug, she sighed. “I’m aware that they are married, as it’s to my sisters, and again, you have no say in what I do.”
“Wanna go to the back of the Rover with me?”
Fucking ovaries. They had been cheering that suggestion on from the second the words had left Bradford’s mouth, and when Hastings mentioned it, they hollered and whooped even louder.
Instead of backing away like she should have—Violet knew better than to engage with him—she stepped closer. “Gonna turn me over your knee?”
He moved into her space and damn it, how the hell did one man smell so good? San Francisco wasn’t exactly a place she would say smelled clean, crisp, or fresh. However, when Hastings Rhodes moved in close to her, she was engulfed by his scent.
Trouble with that was, she wanted more. Immediately. Surrounding her. Permeating her skin.
