I am struggling with the door when I suddenly look up and feel eyes on me. The two or three old guys in the bar don’t look up from their beers but one younger guy with a beard does. I feel his gaze piercing my soul. Flustered by his attention, I briefly look away and get the damn door under control. I move to the bar and sit down. The only open barstool is next to the wall of a man who stared at me. Hell, he’s still staring at me. Self-conscious, I try to adjust my hair but it’s no use. It’s sopping wet and barely moves. Figures. The hottest man I’ve ever seen is staring at me and I look like a drowned rat. That right there is my luck, meaning I don’t have luck.

“What can I get ya?” a pretty bartender asks me.

“Coffee, please,” I reply. My voice is curt and I don’t mean it to be, but after the day I’ve had I just want to sit a minute and relax before I have to meet my new stepfather.

“Put it on my tab, Sloane,” the man growls. His voice is deep and gravely and sends chills over my body. My pussy gets just as wet as the rest of me.

“Sure thing, Conrad,” the bartender says with ease, pouring me a cup. Why do I hate that she’s so friendly with my giant? I don’t know him. For all I know, he’s hers. My belly does a little flip and tightens. She sets it down in front of me and without doctoring it up, I take a sip and warmth spreads throughout my body.

“Thank you,” I tell her. She moves along down the bar and I turn my body towards the man next to me. “Thanks for the coffee, you didn’t have to do that,” I tell him.

“I know I didn’t, but you look like you needed it,” he says holding his hand out to me. “The name is Conrad and you are?” His voice is even deeper, gruffer when he’s talking to me than when he was talking to the pretty bartender.

“Sabrina,” I say taking his hand. That first touch sends shocks through my body.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, sugar,” he drawls. The way he says pleasure has me clenching my thighs together hard. My jeans hit my clit and I have to bite my bottom lip to keep from moaning out loud. His eyes move to my lips and they darken.

“It’s nice to meet you too,” I somehow manage to reply after clearing my throat.

“Won’t your girlfriend mind you talking to me?”

“I’m a grown man, sugar. I don’t have girlfriends. I’d have a woman,” he says and somehow my stomach plummets even further.

“Won’t your woman mind then? I ask, trying to pull my hand away. His grip tightens, but he chuckles.

“I don’t have a woman, Sabrina,” he says smoothly. His voice washes over me and I feel something akin to relief course through my body, my stomach even loosens.

“Oh,” I breathe. I am starting to get a little dizzy staring at him. He overwhelms me in the best way.

“Would you like something a little stronger than coffee?” he asks me. Our hands are still touching and his thumb is running a slow, sweet circle over the back of my hand.

“Can’t. Not old enough, sadly.”

“Are you old enough to be out after dark?”

“I’m old enough to do all kinds of things, but drinkin’ ain’t one of them,” I say. I’ve never been so bold with a man before, but something about him makes me brave. He makes me whole somehow. I know it's crazy to put so much stock in a man that I just met, but it feels… right on every level.

“Is that so, sugar?” he asks, his other hand now resting on my knee and is climbing ever higher. I begin to daydream about him fucking me right here on the bar. Suddenly, he squeezes my thigh, bringing me back to the present.

“Yep,” I say, taking another sip of my coffee, needing the liquid to ease the ache in my throat.

“Want to go someplace more comfortable? Get you out of those wet clothes? You don’t want to catch a cold, do you?” he asks and I just about choke on my tongue.

“No, of course not,” I say.

“Right, we just met. How presumptuous of me,” he says, sounding properly chastised before taking another sip of his beer.

“Oh, Conrad?” I lean closer to him.

“Yes, sugar?” He leans closer to me. We are a breath apart and I can smell his cologne. Holy shit. He smells like sandalwood and crisp, clean air. He’s all man.

“I meant that I’d hate to catch a cold,” I whisper into his ear, before kissing his cheek.

“Sugar, you’re in for a night you’ll never forget,” he says and I believe him. I don’t kid myself. I know a man that looks like him won’t want a girl that looks like me forever. One night is all I get with him and I’m gonna make the most of it.
