“So, a woman you’ve wanted for how long?” he asks, and I shrug my shoulders. “All you want to do is fuck her?”

“Yep.”

He shakes his head, placing the baby back in her crib before he walks to El who’s still asleep. He pulls the blanket covering her and tucks her in.

“I was once scared like you. Funny thing, that is.”

I don’t reply to his words, merely turn and walk out as I feel his stare hit squarely in my back.

Ariel ‘Raven’

“Ariel.”

“What?”

“Ariel,” Chad yells again. He knows I’m putting on a face mask and drinking my favorite bottle of Moscato while I listen to the Spice Girls. Hey, don’t judge me. It’s how I wind down after a long day. Grabbing the bottle in my hand, I walk out to where Chad’s yelling. He’s standing at the front door, holding it open.

“I was about to start playing with BOB, you had to interrupt,” I scorn him.

His eyes go wide, and he starts laughing hard while doubling over. Walking closer, I give him a puzzled look.

What the hell?

“Oh, God.”

“Not God, Raven, just Falcon.”

Falcon stands at my door with his hands on either side of the doorway, his muscles pressing against his shirt as he stares at me. My eyes scan him then land on Chad, who stands, shaking his head and wiping the tears from his face.

“Should I tell him who BOB is, or will you?”

I can feel Falcon’s eyes on me, and I try my hardest not to cringe in embarrassment.

“Have I come at a bad time?” Falcon asks, his smile big, but he’s also looking behind me to see if he can find someone else.

“What are you looking for?”

“BOB, who you wanted to play with. Though, I can play games just as good as anyone. Better, even.”

“Oh, BOB wouldn’t be happy about that.”

I want to throw my bottle at Chad’s head. I hit him with my meanest stare, promising I will get him back for this, when he finally relents. “BOB is her vibrator. You’re welcome,” Chad says walking off.

It takes me two long breaths to look up at Falcon, and when I do, the smile on his face is etched on. So much so I’m afraid it might be permanent.

“I can be your BOB for the night, if you wish.”

My hand touches the door and I slam it in his face. I’m not fast enough to lock it, though, and he pushes it open, his hands crossed over his chest as he watches me. “I’ll take that as a no?”

“How did you find out where I live?”

“How come you have shit on your face?”

My free hand reaches up and touches my face. Fuck! I forgot I had the face mask still on.

“I’m hoping it will repel manwhores.”

“Not working.” He steps in without me inviting him in. “Show me your room.”

“How about you getting lost.”

He leans down, he’s taller than me, I’ve always liked that fact. I like looking up at him, and I always wondered what he sees when he gazes down at me.

“Your words hurt me, so now show me your room.” He pushes himself in and shuts the door behind him leaving me no choice, and I know he won’t go until he gets what he wants. He’s always been like that, strong-willed. I reluctantly walk to my room and stand at the door trying to block him from getting inside.

“You’ve seen it, now if you don’t mind I have things to do, so you can leave.” My hands go to his chest to push him back, and that’s my first mistake. I shouldn’t have done that because now I know what he feels like under that shirt he has on, and does he ever feel good. Fuck! How I’ve missed the feel of a man under my hands.

“Raven.” His nickname for me falls from his lips as he pushes my hair back away from my face. How long have I been standing holding his chest for? Instantly, I drop my hands and step into my room to put a little distance between us, but he simply follows me straight in, not listening to me when I told him to leave. I go immediately to the bathroom and slam the door behind me, making sure I lock it so he can’t come in. Quickly, I rinse the mask off my face and then dry it. I take a few deep breaths and prepare myself for him to still be in my room.

Opening the door, I find him sitting on my bed holding a photo. It’s the one that sits by my bedside. It’s Tracey and me when we graduated school, I love it. Not just because it resembles someone I used to be, but it also shows how much love we have for each other. Tracey is like a sister to me, even if we grew apart. She’ll always be my best friend in this life, and I’m sure into the next as well.
