“At this point, who the hell knows?” Evangeline shakes her head and then puts her fingers to her lips. “Excuse me. I knew that cheese danish was a mistake.” She walks swiftly into the house.

“Pregnancy must suck,” Misty says.

“I imagine,” I say dryly.

“So what’s your angle, Em?” she asks.

I narrow my eyes. “I don’t have an angle. But you do. For the life of me, Misty, I don’t have a clue what you’re after. First River. Then Brett. All the games you play.”

“What games?” she asks innocently.

I roll my eyes and rise. “I’ve had enough of this.”

“Don’t go, Emily,” she says.

“Why shouldn’t I? You’re a mess, Misty. A bloody fucked-up mess. I get that you had a lousy childhood. Your parents didn’t pay attention to you. They showed their love with things instead of affection. Poor little rich girl. Does that give you the right to be so unscrupulous and manipulative?”

“I thought we were friends.” She frowns.

“I played along with you at the cook-off. I regret it. Ariel got hurt.”

She scoffs. “Ariel is fine. It was a superficial cut, and she’s marrying a billionaire, so she’ll have the best care ever. The finest plastic surgeon in the world will make sure she doesn’t even have a scar.”

I can’t fault Misty’s logic. Ariel is and will be fine. “Ariel is the most genuine woman here,” I say. “She’s the most deserving of landing one of the billionaires.”

“And I’m the least deserving? Is that what you’re saying?”

I shake my head. “In what universe did I say that?”

“It was in your tone.”

I open my mouth to spit out a retort, but before I do—

“I’m sorry. I’ve got to stop that. I’m really sorry, Emily.”

I draw in a breath. I’m never sure which of Misty’s personalities I’m going to encounter next. She must truly have issues, and while I feel for her, I’m sick to death of her scheming.

“Have you thought about getting help?” I ask.

“With what?”

“Never mind.” I walk toward the doors. “Have a wonderful day, Misty.”

“Emily...”

But I’m done. I walk inside, grab another cup of coffee, and head back up to my suite.

I’m not ready for today yet.

EPISODE 182

GHOSTLY THREESOME

Sebastian

I love the beach. Whether it’s the Pacific Ocean back home in LA or the Atlantic here, I never tire of the salty spray, the hush of the waves, or the soft grains of sand between my toes. The rhythm of the ocean never fails to soothe me.

Until today.

I’m sick of the ghosts. Sick of the images that play in my mind. Sick of—

Two figures splash in the distance.

Naked.

Women.

Heather and June.

As I get closer, I see the viper tattoo on Heather’s shoulder. Fuck, she’s hot. They both are, but June is so...

I’m not sure.

Not fake, but...calculated. Something below her surface is a mystery waiting to be solved. Normally I love a mystery, but I sense something almost dangerous in June.

I watch as both women wrestle in the waves, their laughter carried by the breeze to where I stand.

June is the first to spot me. She waves. “Sebastian!”

Heather wades back toward the beach, her black hair slicked back and shining in the morning sun. “Join us, Sebastian,” she calls as she shakes droplets of salt water at me.

I’ve been with both of them. Separately.

It doesn’t take a genius to see what they’re offering, and I’d be an idiot not to take them up on it.

Just what I need to ease the tension.

I unbutton my shirt. Heather’s eyes light up, a predatory blue flame. June, on the other hand, regards me with a playful curiosity. She’s not as easy to read as Heather, which, this morning, only fuels my intrigue.

They beckon me closer, and I shrug off the rest of my clothes and move toward them, the cool water lapping at my feet.

Heather reaches out for me first, her wicked smile revealing her intentions. June isn’t quite so subtle.

She grabs my cock.

Without a word, she yanks me deeper into the water. Heather kisses my neck while June works my dick with her talented hands.

I could lose myself in this moment, drown in the sensation of their bodies against mine. But I can’t shake off an element of danger emanating from June. There’s something about her that screams trouble, even as she’s now whispering sensuous promises into my ear.

The world starts to spin as they kiss down my body, continuing their exploration. The water around us grows warmer with our rising heat. I gasp when Heather takes me into her mouth, her fingers gripped tight around my base. June continues to tease my chest, leaving trails of kisses and bites.

But something’s not right.

My senses heighten, the ocean’s lullaby dissipating into a harsh roar in my ears. June’s eyes meet mine, their usual manipulative twinkle replaced with something darker, something malevolent.

“I’ve waited for this,” she murmurs against my skin, digging her fingers into my waist.
