“Then where are we…?” My question dies as the driver pulls up to let us out.

At the opera house.

I already feel a spike of excitement, and then he says, “How about a tour?”

From the moment we walk in, I am entranced.

To say the place is beautiful would be a massive understatement.

Killian takes my picture on the grand staircase, but I can’t stop smiling even when the camera is no longer pointed at me. We head upstairs and look out over the balcony, then we wander the magnificent halls.

Killian can’t be bothered to follow rules, so even though most of the doors out to the balcony on the front of the building are roped off, he finds the one that isn’t and pushes it open.

I’m not a rebel, so I look around, paranoid that we’ll get into trouble. “What are you doing?” I whisper to him. “I don’t think we’re supposed to go out there.”

“Come on,” he says, going outside anyway.

“You’re going to get us banned.” I look hastily over my shoulder, but seeing no one to stop us, I hurry out there with him.

The balcony feels private with nobody else out here, and it overlooks the busy street so there’s a nice view. Since we’re staying right next to it, I can even see the balcony of our hotel room from here.

“Look.” I point at it, glancing back at Killian with a smile. “Should we get a picture on the balcony in front of our balcony?”

“You’re such a nerd.” He smirks, shaking his head, but drawing his phone out anyway. “Sure.”

I face him and flash him a smile as I point at our hotel room, and he snaps a picture of just me. Then he joins me, leaning close with our backs to the busy Parisian street, and snaps a shot of both of us. On impulse, I kiss his cheek, so he snaps another one.

“That’s the winner,” he says, smiling faintly as he looks down at his phone screen.

“Make sure you send those to me,” I tell him before turning around so I can enjoy the view for another moment before we leave.

“I will,” he murmurs, coming up behind me and bracing his hands on the railing in front of me. “Are you enjoying our first date?”

“Immensely. Thank you so much for this. There are truly no words.”

My hair is down and blowing like crazy out here, but I feel warm with his body pressed against mine. He nuzzles his face in the crook of my neck and leaves a little kiss there, and a shiver dances down my spine that isn’t from the cold.

I sigh happily. “This is so nice.”

“Isn’t it?”

“Mm-hmm. I’m still not sure if we’re allowed to be out here, though.” I glance back at him. “We should probably head back inside.”

“We could,” he says, but his voice betrays no interest.

Then his troublemaking hands slide slowly up my thighs until he’s squeezing my ass.

Interest stirs between my thighs, but this isn’t the time or place, so I ignore the pull of arousal and try to sound stern. “Killian Walsh.”

“Brynn Blakely,” he mocks.

“We need to go back inside.”

I turn around so we can get back to our tour before he causes any more trouble, but rather than let me escape, he grips the railing and moves closer, caging me in.

I cock an eyebrow and look up at him as if he’s not deliberately crowding me. “Can you move?”

“What’s the magic word?” he teases.

“Please,” I say sweetly.

His blue eyes seem to darken. “Christ. It’s hard to say no to anything when you look at me like that.”

I smile, biting down on my bottom lip, then licking them. I’ll admit, I’m flirting with him a little, but I am not planning to pay for my actions.

Killian’s plans don’t look like mine.

His gaze drops to my mouth like a magnet, and he lets go of the balcony to grab my neck with one hand and my hip with the other, pulling me close and slanting his mouth over mine.

His kiss is overpowering, and it makes my tummy flutter. Despite the beauty all around us and the bite of the cold from the wind, I forget where we are for a split second. We could be anywhere, as long as I’m there with him.

Killian must maintain a firmer grip on his senses, because as he kisses me, he walks me backward, and doesn’t stop until my back is pressed against the opera house exterior. We’re between the columns over here, so we’re not clearly visible from the street or through the doors unless someone else comes out.

But someone could easily come out.

Apparently unconcerned, he sinks his hand into my hair, cradling my skull and devouring me. I can taste him on my lips, feel his hardness pressing against me.

Delicious tension builds in my lower body and between my thighs. I love when I can feel him needing me like this.
