“Yeah. Feels better than good. You’re amazing.”

Trembles racked Tam’s body and his groans deepened. “I’m...” And then he bit Driver’s pec, right above his heart, as his body jerked. He came, his spurts covering Driver’s hand making everything slippery and warm.

It was the bite that did it. The tingles spread from there to Driver’s balls then shot up his spine straight to the roots of his hair. He cuddled Tam closer as the pleasure roared through him and he came with a shout, his body quaking to the end.

They stayed like that, plastered together, catching their breath until Driver said, “If we don’t shower we’ll end up stuck like this.”

“Join me?”

“Always.”

Chapter Twenty-One

“You’re all coming to Thanksgiving, right? Who needs a ride?” Ansel asked on Friday.

They’d gathered at the Dance Center for an impromptu rehearsal because Tam had been struck with sudden inspiration. The only time he could spare was an hour right after his class. Luckily, everyone was willing and able to adjust their schedules. Besides, they could use a workout.

“What time?” Jae asked.

“I’m serving the turkey at six but we’ll have appetizers and shit beforehand.”

“Don’t you need to celebrate with family now that you’re practically engaged?” Hop twisted a length of his baby pink and lavender hair. His hologram heels accented his pastel pants and oversized “I Regret Nothing” T-shirt.

“We’re doing an early lunch with Fitch’s parents.”

“Connelly and I won’t be able to come until later. His mom expects us both to celebrate with her and Janie, and won’t compromise.” Z shrugged off his hoodie, sounding more pleased than the words would indicate and it made Tam smile.

“What about the rest of you? Tam?” Ansel lifted a blond brow at him.

“I’ll be there.” He didn’t bother to look up from his phone as he organized their playlist.

“You’ve been acting weird. What’s up with you?” Ansel crossed the room and hip-checked him.

“Nothing.”

“Speaking of weird, are we supposed to ignore it?” Z’s dark eyes were full of curiosity.

“What?” Tam asked.

Z waved a hand in the air. “What happened at your party.” Like he couldn’t possibly be talking about anything else even though it’d been over a week. “Why am I the only one concerned?”

The reminder of dancing with Driver ignited flutters in Tam’s stomach. “Seriously?”

“You’re not the only one,” Ansel said as he pulled on his heels.

“Because dancing is somehow odd behavior for me?” The night of the party Tam had successfully avoided everyone’s questions. The fact that they still hadn’t let it go irritated him.

He was used to them treating him with kid gloves, but he was sick of it. He was an adult and he knew how to take care of himself. As much as he appreciated them looking out for him, it was time they saw him as someone capable of handling his own shit.

Because for the first time, he felt like he could.

“Was that all it was?” Ansel asked.

No. “What else would it be?”

Z let out a sarcastic laugh. “Please. You’re not that naive.”

“Driver is attracted to you, Tam.”

It was all he could do to keep his laugh in his chest, because yeah...he’d gotten the hint. But he didn’t want to put their unnameable relationship under a Sassy Boyz spotlight.

“You think?” If sarcasm tinted his voice, it couldn’t be helped.

Hop and Jae laughed. Z huffed as he zipped his boots. “Careful how you play it, sweetie. That guy is trouble.”

Tam clenched his fists. How dare Z? He didn’t know anything about Driver. Tam bit his tongue hard and crossed to start the music before the retort burst from his lips.

“Have you seen him since?” Ansel asked from behind him, making Tam wince. He plugged in his phone to cover the reaction.

He didn’t want to lie to them, but he also didn’t want to hear any more of their warnings. Tam didn’t care what they thought. Driver had changed his life. There was no way they could understand what that meant.

“He’s staying across the hall, of course I’ve seen him.” Vague but truthful.

“Keep your dist—”

“Stop!” Tam spun as he shouted. “Don’t fucking finish that sentence.”

They all stared at him as if he’d lost his mind, and maybe he had. It didn’t matter. “I have control now, do you get that? I am making decisions for the first time in my life. And if I choose to spend time with my temporary neighbor, it’s got nothing to do with you. I appreciate your concern.” He took a deep breath, gathering all his courage close. “But I can handle my business.”

“But—”

“If I need your help, I’ll ask. I promise.”

When he looked up, Jae was smiling at him, Ansel and Z were scowling, and Hop was giving him a slow clap.

“Impressive,” Hop said.

Tam shook his head. “Can we dance now?”

“You’re the boss.” Ansel tossed his hair.

Tam spent the next five minutes laying out the opening positions, then he began guiding them through all the steps. The routine was to Britney’s “Change Your Mind” and had Spanish influences which Tam used to color the choreography. There was a definite Latin flavor to each precise movement, especially in the beginning. But once the beat dropped it was classic and sexy Sassy Boyz, just with subtle additions to give the dance uniqueness.
