Did Jet’s oldest cousin think the Fury was involved? Maybe.

Could he prove it? Not yet and hopefully never.

One thing was for sure, no one at Manning Grove PD believed anyone in the Fury had the knowledge or expertise to rig a mountain full of explosives. Or, even better, make it look like the Shirleys had mishandled the components needed to make those explosives.

To cover their asses further, Trip had even come up with bogus “receipts” on why the club’s accounts had been emptied.

“He ain’t called Hunter for no good reason,” Shade murmured, bringing Easy back to their conversation.

“You can afford him?”

“He said it ain’t gonna take much. No longer than an hour to confirm where the fucker is and get me an address.”

Easy shook his head, once again impressed with the skills the former special ops team had. “Damn. They’re that good.”

“Yeah.”

“Good to know in case we ever need his services in the future.”

Shade’s brow dropped low. “For what?”

Easy shrugged. “Never know. It’s just a good tool to have in the shed.”

“Yeah, if you like your tools gold-plated.”

Easy snorted. “Ain’t that the fuckin’ truth. All right, so I gotta get back to the seller about when we’re pickin’ up my new ride. When are you supposed to hear back from the Shadow?”

“A few days. He’s got another job ahead of mine. He’s gonna text me the address once he confirms.”

“You know what you wanna do once you got that?”

Shade tilted his head and stared at him for far too fucking long. “Got lots on the list.”

“I’m sure. And I’m sure that motherfucker ain’t gonna like any of them.” Just like the Shadows, Easy never wanted to be Shade’s target, either. “You incinerate that plate we used on the van along with the phones?”

“Yeah. But found another one we can use.”

“Think Cassie’s gonna question why we’re takin’ the van?”

“To pick up your new sled,” Shade answered.

“Was plannin’ on ridin’ it back.”

“She don’t need to know that. And if the weather’s shit, we can stick it in the back.”

True. April had all those fucking “spring showers.” Driving for hours upon hours in the rain not only sucked ass, it wasn’t safe.

“Seller gonna hold the sled for you if we gotta wait a week or so?”

“Yeah, I gave him half the scratch already to hold it. Was waitin’ on Nico to pay me for mine.”

“All right, soon as you get that and soon as I get the address, we can go from there.”

“Sounds like a fuckin’ plan, brother. Nothin’ like killin’ two birds with one stone.”

Shade shook his head, grabbed the box from the floor and headed out the door. “Catch you later.”

“Later,” Easy murmured before the steel door slammed shut.

He was so fucking glad Shade was on their side.

Scar had given off a scary vibe, but Shade was so much fucking scarier because on the surface he came across as calm and quiet. But Easy was damn sure that Shade’s body count was much higher than Scar’s.

Shade’s father would be added to that list since he’d soon experience what a fucking cunt Karma was.

But none of what the man suffered would be anywhere close to being equal to all the years of torture Shade went through.

Yeah, no matter what Shade had planned for the man whose nut sac he came from, he would get off too easy.

“All right, we got a bunch of business to deal with tonight. Settle the fuck down so we can get to it.”

When everyone didn’t hear the club president, Judge, standing in his spot to Trip’s left, tucked two fingers into his mouth and blew an ear-splitting whistle. “Your fuckin’ prez is speakin’! Quiet the fuck down and show the man some respect.”

The volume went from a ten to a zero in less than a second.

“If you didn’t hear me ‘cause of your flappin’ gums, I’ll say it again… We got a lot of shit to cover,” Trip repeated, “so let’s get to it.”

They’d been called to gather at The Barn for a church meeting. Most had arrived at least an hour ago and had been waiting around for the exec committee to come downstairs after their own meeting.

The prospects were told to get lost as soon as the officers descended the stairs since they weren’t allowed to attend church meetings until they got their full set of patches. They quickly made themselves scarce, as did any sweet butt who’d been hanging around.

“Gonna start with the prospects. So far, we got two potentials that Dodge is willin’ to sponsor. Nico and Rex both approached me and are interested. We need numbers so we need prospects, no doubt about it. Wasn’t expectin’ any of Syn’s band members to be interested but since they’ve been stayin’ on the farm, they’ve seen what the life is like and what the club provides. They both wanna be a part of the Fury family.”
