For fuck’s sake.

He guzzled half his beer at the thought that he’d invest all his savings for her to be safe.

“Earth to fucking Rez,” Finn yelled.

He glanced over at Finn. “What?”

“She must have fucked your brains out last night.” Finn smirked. “Not sure what she sees in you.”

“My impressive cock and my sparkling personality.”

“Okay, let’s get back to reality,” Decker said. “Has anyone seen T-Bag lately on the cameras at either the Wolf Den or The Peach Pit?”

“I haven’t,” Finn answered. “And I’ve been stuck watching the cameras a lot lately. We’ll have to check with whoever else has been watching, too.”

“Or listening to the wiretaps.” Decker drew his fingers down his clean-shaven cheek. “I’ll head up to the third floor later and see who’s up there.”

“I was hanging out at their Uniontown clubhouse the other night and didn’t see him,” Fletch said.

“Maybe Viper or Wolf had him taken care of already,” Rez suggested.

“We could only be so lucky,” Decker murmured.

“He’s probably sticking to the shadows hoping we didn’t find Sadie,” came from Finn.

“Or he could still be tied up in that field. Did anyone check after we got back from Ohio?” Rez sure didn’t.

“Maybe he turned into a Demon popsicle. It is the end of fucking January,” Finn said. “Plus, we had some snow. He could be out there looking like Frosty the Snowman.”

Decker shook his head. “I checked since he could’ve identified me and he knows where the hell I live. When I did, there was no sign of him or his car.”

“I doubt he has the balls to show up at your place again, Hatchet. He doesn’t want to go another round with Finn. The brave one with four legs, not the two-legged pussy sprawled on that couch over there,” Rez stated.

Finn flipped him off. “I agree. My namesake is a badass, just like me.”

Rez snorted, then sobered. “I wonder who found him?”

“Does it matter?” Finn asked.

“It does if a fellow badge did.”

“Even if the local PD did, we have connections with most of the departments in the area between the BAMC and the task force. Even if we didn’t, that fucker isn’t saying shit to law enforcement,” Fletch said. “Not with what he did to Sadie and who knows how many other women. And like most hardcore bikers, he hates cops. He’s not going to cooperate no matter what happened to him.”

That was true.

“Okay, we need to figure out our next step if the Demons don’t deliver karma for us,” Finn spoke up. “That fucker isn’t getting a pass.”

“If they don’t, then we move on to the next heavy hitter and plant seeds in their garden,” Rez suggested.

“I doubt it would take much since I’d take bets that the Russos have a healthy suspicion of the Demons,” Fletch confirmed. “It wouldn’t take much to get them to turn on the MC. It’s easy enough to find new mules.”

“Either organization would be stupid to trust the other,” Rez added. “Their relationship has to do with greed, not bonding.”

“And we all know the effects of greed,” Decker murmured.

“We witnessed some of the ugly that goes along with greed when we found Sadie,” Rez reminded them.

“Money makes people do some crazy-ass shit,” Finn agreed.

Decker continued, “My worry is that pitting the Russos against the Demons will make a huge fucking mess. A mess that might fall back on us. If the Demons take the bait, then that mess will be contained within their MC and won’t start any wars.”

“Let’s hope they do,” Rez said, “since we need to try to take care of that fucker without getting our hands dirty.”

“I can’t believe they tolerate him disappearing as much as he does,” Fletch started. “That would never fly with the Dirty Angels. The prez here keeps his finger on the pulse of the whole club. Can’t believe I’m saying this but he’s pretty fucking impressive.”

“Well, Zak is Axel’s brother and Jamison does a good job of leading our club. That’s why we keep voting him in as president,” Decker reminded Fletch. “The MC life’s in their blood.”

That was damn true. Both Zak and Axel Jamison were third generation bikers. The difference was, when they were much younger, one went to prison while the other went to the police academy.

“As for Flank Steak’s disappearing act, who’s really paying attention except for Saint?” Rez asked. “Do you think Wolf or any of the others give a shit about a missing prospect?”

“They would notice if he’s not paying his dues,” Fletch answered. “That’s a big thing with the Dirty Angels, I’m sure it’s even more so with the Demons.”

“They charging you dues, Ghost?” Rez asked, using Fletch’s undercover road name.

“Yeah, Crew’s been getting the feds to cover it, as well as the rent on the apartment. Even though I still work for fucking free at the Angels’ gun shop on top of that. That was the deal Crew renegotiated after they threatened to kick our asses out a few months back.”
