His step stuttered for a second when he took in how packed the chairs, tables and booths were. He hadn’t seen it that busy since Finn danced on stage while undercover with the Peckers All-Male Revue. The room had been full of rabid women all wanting a piece of “Blaze.”

What was different tonight than the last few times he’d been in?

New Year’s Eve. It had to be.

He elbowed his way between two other patrons at the crowded bar, where Mutt, another Demon prospect, was in no hurry to serve anyone. The biker was the worst and slowest goddamn bartender, but Saint had fired all the good employees Mel had employed previously.

Since the dancer on stage wasn’t worth watching, Rez scanned the room, looking for anything out of the ordinary…

And maybe looking for the dark-haired, blue-eyed vixen he would love to tangle with.

He didn’t see her, either, but he spotted Porsche and Cherish working the floor. Besides Sapphire, they were the only two original dancers remaining after Mel was “escorted” out of the building against her will.

He turned and watched Mutt bumble through making drinks and serving beers. Slowly the backup at the bar began to recede and after another five minutes, Mutt finally stopped in front of him. “Whatchya want?”

“Whatever Saint left for me behind the bar.”

“Don’t know who the fuck you are.”

“He was supposed to leave a bag of ice behind the bar for me tonight. I’m having a party and need some ice for our drinks.”

Mutt stared at him for a few heartbeats until it dawned on him what the hell Rez was talking about.

The prospect gave him a single nod. “What you drinkin’?”

Whatever was safe. “Corona. Bottle.”

With another nod, Mutt moved down the bar and fussed with something at the far end. A locked cash box? Maybe. Rez couldn’t get a good view of whatever it was since the prospect was blocking it with his body.

When the Demon returned, he plunked the opened bottle on top of the bar. “Fifteen.”

That was definitely not only for the beer. He dug out three fives from his wallet and when he handed over the cash, something was pushed into his palm. He curled his fingers around the tiny baggy and quickly slipped it into the front pocket of his jeans.

“It’s just a taste. Got plenty more where that came from if you got the scratch.” Mutt said only loud enough to be heard over the loud music.

“Only if it’s top-notch. Why I wanted a taste first.”

Mutt’s thick eyebrows hiked up his forehead. “Don’t look like you can afford top-notch.”

“And you don’t look like a fucking bartender. Where’s Saint tonight?”

The prospect shrugged. “Haven’t seen him yet. If he’s here, probably in his office.”

“Need to talk to him.”

“Sounds like your fuckin’ problem, not mine.”

Rez tipped his beer to his lips and took a swig so he wouldn’t get into a word war with the asshole wearing a Demons prospect cut.

He’d wait around a bit to see if he could spot Saint. If the man didn’t appear after a reasonable amount of time, he’d head out. Since Sapphire didn’t seem to be in the house tonight, he had no reason to hang around now that he completed the buy.

“Packed more than normal, ain’t it?” he asked Mutt, now setting a beer bottle in front of another customer.

“Could be ‘cause it’s New Year’s Eve or…”

When the stage lights changed, it seemed to wake up the men in the audience.

“Could be ‘cause of her.” Mutt stared over Rez’s shoulders and jerked up his chin.

Whoever was in the DJ booth announced, “Let’s hear a loud welcome for… the one… the only… the super sexy Sapphire!”

As the song S&M by Rihanna filled the air, so did a cacophony of catcalls and whistles.

“What the fuck?” he muttered under his breath as he turned to face the stage.

His lungs seized as he took in the woman strutting out onto the stage under a blood red spotlight.

Was she…

Fuck yes, she was.

Sapphire was dressed like a goddamn Dominatrix in all black leather. A black leather mask covered the upper portion of her face. The outfit included a black leather bra that pushed her tits up and out, a corset that made her waist appear so tiny it emphasized her generous hips, a collar with a small gold padlock attached to a D-ring on the front circled the delicate column of her throat. Black leather “panties” and a garter belt covered those curvy hips. Attached to the garters were patterned, sheer thigh-high stockings.

Holy motherfucking shit.

His gaze dropped to her feet as she continued to do her sexy strut around the T-shaped stage, making sure everybody in that damn club with a dick was at least semi-aroused, if not fully hard as fuck.

How the hell she didn’t twist an ankle or break her neck simply walking in those insanely high black platform stilettos complete with wide ankle cuffs…
