I sat up, the sheet falling to pool on my thighs and around my hips. Last night was proof that I couldn’t just do this with Blakely and expect it to be enough. She’d burrowed herself beneath my skin. I mean, fuck—I’d taken her raw last night. My careful ass never did that. I had never fucked without a condom before, but she had me so lost in her that it was damn near impossible to think. The moment I had her against that door, all I could think about was being inside of her. To hell with the consequences of taking her raw, even if I had used the pull-out method.

My phone rang on the nightstand, and I reached over to grab it. A small piece of paper fluttered to the floor, and I leaned down to grab it while I swiped my thumb across the screen to answer Shaw’s call. “Yeah?”

“Need you back at the clubhouse. Got church,” he told me.

“Give me thirty.”

I hung up the phone and ran my eyes over the phone number Blakely had left me.

Call me or text me. You don’t have to go through Hooked anymore if you need me.

-Blakely

I quickly typed her digits into my contacts before getting out of bed. After shoving the slip of paper into my wallet for safekeeping, I yanked on the sweats I’d had on the night before and grabbed a clean t-shirt out of my overnight bag. After shoving my feet into my sneakers, I shoved my boots and work clothes into the overnight bag before heading out to my truck.

Church first. Then, I’d figure out what to do with Blakely. Because clearly, I couldn’t leave her the fuck alone.

“Give me a couple of minutes to change,” I told Shaw when I walked into the clubhouse.

He nodded and headed into the chapel, cradling a cup of coffee in his tatted hands. When he’d gotten discharged from the military, he already had sleeves, but he hadn’t had any tattoos that would be visible outside of his uniform. Now that he was out, Shaw had taken to getting the rest of him tattooed. I had a few tats of my own, but Shaw had an obsession with getting them.

A few minutes later, I settled my ass in my chair at the table, the chapel door closed behind me, my phone in the bin outside the room. Electronics weren’t allowed in the room since we ran on the wrong side of the law. Private business was handled here, and anything said in this room could incriminate us. And phones were bugged too easily.

I wasn’t keen on another stint inside.

“We might have a problem on our hands,” Shaw began. I leaned forward a little, my interest piqued. We hadn’t been at this shit long, but we knew trouble would eventually find us. I just thought we might have had a little bit more time.

“What’s going on?” Cameron asked from next to me. He braced his elbows on the table, lacing his fingers together in front of his mouth.

“Bratva is in town,” Konrad told us.

I cursed and leaned back in my seat. The Bratva would no doubt be a problem. They were always hungry for more territory, and they liked to target smaller clubs and gangs like us—people who hadn’t been in the game long and didn’t have the alliances needed to help keep us protected.

“Well, what the fuck do we do?” Ace asked, drumming his long, thin fingers on the table, a scowl pulling at his lips.

“For now, we lay low,” Shaw said. “We don’t start shit. Don’t go looking for trouble. Go to work. Come home.” Shaw shot me a pointed look. I clenched my jaw. “We’re stronger together.”

I nodded once, understanding the silent order he just gave me. There would be no more late-night rendezvous for me unless I wanted to bring Blakely to the clubhouse.

Wasn’t sure how I felt about that yet. None of us brought anyone home unless we planned to be serious about them. Which meant none of us brought our conquests here.

“If I need to go out of town for work?” Arlo asked.

“I suggest hiring another crew to handle that for you,” Konrad told him. “None of us need to be far from home. Clear?”

When we all gave our affirmatives, Shaw looked at me. “Need you to go with Konrad to deliver this shipment of guns. It’s a small order, and you should be back sometime before daybreak.”

I grunted in acknowledgement. Shaw slammed his gavel on the table, adjourning church. I slid out of my chair to go talk to Konrad, but Cameron grabbed my bicep before I could walk away. Turning, I arched a brow at him, my beanie hiding it though. “What?”

Cameron sighed, dropping his hand back to his side. “I’m sorry for pushing you the other day,” he quietly apologized. “I was out of bounds.”
