He made me want to laugh, but I focused on staying big enough to answer questions and shook my head. “I did. I said I like Marvel.”

Chuckling, he nodded. “That’s right. You did.”

Keeping my hand in his, he stepped deeper into the apartment, leading me toward his living room. “What part of the Marvel Universe…hmm, let me guess…Loki?”

Giggling, I nodded. “He’s always in trouble.”

Pretending to study me closely as he led me toward a big, oversized L-shaped couch that looked perfect for lounging, he made a cute thinking sound. “And maybe Spiderman when you’re feeling sweet and innocent?”

I felt myself blushing as he sat down in the corner of the couch, gently tugging my hand so I knew he wanted me to sit close. “After the way everything’s gone between us, I assumed you thought I was a brat.”

I’d have thought I was a dramatic asshole at the very least.

Curling into him felt so right, I didn’t even realize what I’d done until my head was resting high on his chest near his shoulder. I felt him shake his head as he wrapped his arms around me. “Now that I know about your little side, things are a bit clearer. I bet you are a young little and incredibly sweet. Maybe to balance out your more…excited grown-up side?”

That was the nicest way to describe me that I’d ever heard.

“Yes.” My simple answer had him chuckling, and I couldn’t help smiling as I snuggled against him. “But I thought you’d find that weird or at least silly. You brought home this horny guy from a club and suddenly he wants to cuddle and call you Daddy.”

He made a low hum that said he could see both sides of the issue.

“I guess I can see that.” He pressed a kiss against the top of my head. “It would’ve required a lot of trust to tell me that, and we’d just met. I get it.”

He might’ve understood, but I was left wondering what would’ve happened if I’d been honest from the beginning.

Would he have been Daddy all this time?

Had I almost missed out on the Daddy of my dreams?

Chapter 3

Robyn

Oh, how different things might’ve been.

“What would you have done if it’d come out while we were still at the club?” Hunter’s soft question had me thinking back on that night.

I snorted, making him giggle. “Well, I’d have stopped drinking, that’s for sure.”

“Daddies don’t drink?” The laughter in his voice was barely suppressed, making me scoff.

“No, Daddies who want to play with a little should not be drinking.” I kissed his head as he went still. “I’d have given us time to sober up a bit, chatting and asking all kinds of other questions rather than the slightly shallow ones I asked that night.”

He giggled. “You thought you were hanging out with the intent to get laid, not find a play partner.”

That might’ve been true, but it was clear I should’ve taken the conversation more seriously to begin with. “I wish I had gotten to know you better.”

He made a soft, happy sound and wiggled closer. “We can fix that now.”

Glad he wasn’t holding a grudge or uncomfortable about the situation, I kissed his head again. “Yes, and that means lots of questions.”

He let out a dramatic sigh, and from how he was cuddled against me, I could barely make out a cute pout. “I know. Three dates.”

On one hand, I loved that he was so eager to jump back into bed with me. It was an ego boost I needed, but I wasn’t a dick. We needed to be on the same page, comfortable with each other and open, before we got to that point again.

“I think as long as I feed you lunch and we do some kind of activity, color or play or watch a movie, anything like that, we can call this date number two.” Although I personally would’ve started over again so we could ignore the first time around completely.

“We could watch a movie.” His voice got quiet toward the end, clearly worrying about something. “I mean, that would be good. We don’t have to play or do something—”

I reached up and stroked his cheek, cutting off whatever negative thing I knew he’d been about to say. “I don’t have many toys here. It’s been a while since I had a little in my life, but I have some friends in the lifestyle who appreciate me keeping a few things around.”

Thinking about what he might enjoy, I stroked his back and thought about what was in the pantry. “I have some crayons and art supplies. Although glitter is banned after a tragic accident a few years ago when I first moved in. It’s too horrible to discuss.”

I groaned as he giggled. “You have no idea.”

I shuddered just thinking about it. “But I have some books and stuffies and a box of random toys like farm animals and Transformers.”
